I figure 500 years from now, assuming there is still human life on earth, the people will look back on the first part of the century and think:

"Awww, weren't they cute, with their little wars and killing of each other."

Quick, race you to Alpha Centauri!

  • Lets first make sure we can live on mars in a substanable manner. Who know what kind of rocks there would be to live on in Alpha Centauri.
    • Yeah but in the not too distant future we will be able to tell which stars have planets around them that might be pretty darn close to earthlike*. Why waste time on mars if there is someplace better to go? I can't find the source, but in the next few decades I believe there is a launch set for a telescope that will be able to give us information about the atmoshpere of planets around nearby stars. Granted it is a long way to go, but if there is a reasonbly liveable place at the other end, suddenly a few hun

      Actually, I think in 500 years pretty much everyone will be slightly darker.

      The earth will be so hot from the ozone being gone that everyone will be tan.

      We will all look like the old chick from Something about Mary...well, minus the saggy nasty boobs.

        You have it sooooooo wrong. We'll all be forced underground by the hostile climate and thus be lily-white with huge milky eyes an' stuff.
