This is equivalent to an experiment where you leave the sheep enclosure open and eventually one wanders out with some coaxing...

What a weird guy this is. I don't actually think he is real...

But yeah, I've worked in tech my entire career as well, founded startups, had several profitable exits, and you know where I had the best work-life balance? Way back when I worked full-time as a scientist for the Department of Defense. Do you know why? All 5k+ scientists at the base were unionized, and the union delivered wins for us year after year, improving unsafe working conditions in many cases, getting us raises at a time when frequent government shutdowns meant we often weren't paid for several weeks each year. The list goes on and on. My direct managers were also members of the union, pretty much everyone except the commander and a few directors.

> "unskilled labor" "Unskilled" labor in the workplace is definitely a thing, but employers are pretty damn good at weeding these out, except in the case of managers and executives of course. A union isn't going to save you if your employer can fire you for performance reasons.
