It can depend on the web server platform. Linux-based servers are more likely than Windows to care about case. It can also depend on what part of a web address you are talking about. Amazon uses a 10-character Amazon Standard Identification Number in its web pages. While those typically appears as all caps in URLs, they aren't case sensitive, and you could use lowercase letters to still get to the page. On the other hand, the 11-character IDs used by YouTube videos ARE case-sensitive. (The same goes for links to Google Docs--and Microsoft OneDrive links, for that matter.)

Submission + - AT&T Email to SMS Gateway Service Ending (att.com)

CyberSlugGump writes: On 6/17/2025, AT&T will stop supporting email-to-text messages. That means you won’t be able to send a text message to an AT&T customer from an email address. You can still get in touch with AT&T customers using SMS (text), MMS, and standard email services.

I second this. Install the Coreboot firmware. I installed ChromeOS Flex in a cheap Dell Chromebook 11 3181 (1.6 GHz Celeron N3060, 4 GB RAM, 16 GB eMMC, 1366x768 screen) that I got in Feb. 2019, and it has worked pretty well. The only issue is that the built-in speakers no longer work. USB or HDMI or Bluetooth audio all work, though. Windows 10 could also install--thanks to Coreboot--but would be very slow.

Comment Cellular internet service limits streaming options (Score 1) 31

I had a friend living in a rural area who was finally able to switch from satellite internet to service from a T-Mobile tower. He was testing out Hulu, but he was running into problems where it kept thinking his location had changed (due to the dynamic IP address). VPN didn't really help since he wanted certain local stations, and the VPN city choices were all far away. He ended up going with YouTube TV.

According to the TM 5G Home Internet FAQ: "Streaming services that rely on IP address for specific location data to deliver live TV are not compatible with T-Mobile Home Internet. This includes Hulu Live and Sling Live TV. YouTube TV supports required location data, and will work seamlessly with T-Mobile Internet."
