Journal Chacham's Journal: Slashdot Habits: more = less, not checking front page 3
Another doomsayer. Slashdot is going downhill. They added a game section. It's nice, but it's not news for nerds.
A few years back I remember thinking that slashdot might actually have their own articles. They added interviews, but even those are scarce. Although book reviews aren't too bad. They come up now and then, and are reviews by slashdotters.
The stories are more about companies. Which I would think would be opposite nerd culture.
As has been mentioned before, by me and others, that some of us are looking to slashdot for the journals and only glimpse at the front page. But why do we get together in slashdot journals as opposed to elsewhere? That's because Slashdot is of the only nerd websites out there, that allows everyone to speak their piece.
I should check the slashdot front page less, but my J tendencies give me a fight. Maybe when I get my other computer running, I'll make a bookmark for slashdot, but make it the messages page, hot key that, and only check the front page once a day.
It's strange. The older I get, the more I understand, and the less I care to know. Maybe I'm just getting better at filtering the truly useless.

I might just start a blog instead. I am very close to just purchasing service for email, and web interface, since I'll have the webspace, a blog may do well.
I wonder....
