Much or the corporate world is trying to push us into a weird perversion of communism. It has all the downsides of regular Communism but in addition you don't even theoretically own things due to being part of the collective society, only corporations actually own things. It's a wealthy exclusive club and you ain't in it.

The first 5 minutes of the Wizard of Oz are sepiatone. I used to think it was black and white/sepia film, then I visited Kansas and realized it's just that Kansas IS sepia tone! :-)

That aside, Hjostbisters was one of my favorite movies from that time. I have even made reference to "the Twinkie" occasionally.

Intel has done some good things in the day, but they have always been far from the infallible genius of their carefully manicured public image. Even the x86 was half accident. They had something going with ARM but dumped it because not invented here. Itanic was every bit the disaster it's nickname implies.

Then the whole debacle of rigging the compiler to sandbag AMD.

The racist Nazi crap just means he's unlikely to become notable for his composition skills any time soon, and suggests why he's putting such a large effort into pushing his obscure compositions into the wider public's ears rather than just toning down the racism and see if the quality of the composition can do the job.

The (many) processors on modern cars are perfectly capable of handling a cryptographic handshake to make a completely local decision about unlocking. Between the touchscreen and processors, they are perfectly capable of letting the owner do the key management. There is no reason they can't interact with a smart phone over bluetooth to unlock.

Instead, the idiot manufacturers tie it all to the mothership where a single vulnerability can affect thousands of people all at once.
