So, now we Firefox users will have to: manually shut off AI, change several privacy controls, perhaps shut acceleration in some cases, tell it not to allow youtube to know when we have Firefox in the foreground or not, and set the ssd disk caching to off.( as I have a reasonable amount of memory on my machines.)
You know those ebikes you hate? You could power over a thousand ebike for the the power of one Tesla Plaid. I think it's time to think about smaller, lighter, vehicles.
Because I dual boot Windows, with a Linux default--twice a day, I find myself spending too much time tapping the old F11/F12 keys to select a boot. Yes, indeed I want my boots entirely independent. Thank you.
Because I am other people routinely dual boot our machines, and find the wait-time unacceptable, given our hardware. I use Linux for my daily driver, but still use Windows for Rhino 3D, various video editing chores. I also have a copy of Adobe CS6, full, perpetual. Yet, I don't trust Microsoft with anything that AI could steal.
No, we don't need someone else spying, content-stealing billionaire-propping AI. We need something that can be downloaded locally, run on our 12TF video card, and lock out the billionaires who have already done too much damage to our society.
Note: I am against two computer technologies: blockchain and as-deployed AI. I guess that is why Slashdot gives my posts a level-1 initial value.
