Submission + - Open source Flickr-like app?

Zanguinar writes: I've been a Gallery user for years now. I have a ton of photos, organized by albums, mainly just for use by my family and close friends. However, some of my friends have begun using Flickr. I can't say I blame them. It's got a great design, and I love the tagging concept. However, I'm not eager to store my photos on somebody else's server, and don't want to pay for the privilege, especially since I already run my own web server. But I can't find any Flickr-like software to run on my home LAMP setup. All I want is to be able to tag my photos like Flickr and be able to display them by tag, tag intersection, date, etc. Why hasn't anybody published some OSS to do this yet?

or should I say Holiday gifts, is the word Christmas allowed anymore?

Are you a school administrator who's gotten in trouble for pressuring kids to celebrate the birth of another religion's deity? No? Then have you ever experienced a situation where someone told you not to use the word "Christmas" during the Christmas season? Seriously, I'm not just being snarky, I'm actually curious.

If not, please don't fuel the fake "war on Christmas" flamewar that only serves to demonize disestablishmentarians. We're not trying to steal Christmas from any of the Whos in Whoville. We promise.

You live a sheltered life, doncha? There are quite a lot of people who think the government is big and greedy. They're called Republicans.

You are joking, right?

Have you been paying attention to what Pres. Bush has been doing? You'd think he had eliminated the dept of education, welfare, medicare, and social security all last year given by how conservatives seem to think that his becoming president is like the second coming of jesus. But clearly, he's done the opposite. He not only wants to make these programs bigger, he wants to make them globalized. He's even turning out to be a bigger pork barrel spender than Bill Clinton was (and that's even if you take away his "defense spending" for the WoT and Iraq).

Republican might say that government is too big and too greedy, but they contribute to its size and greediness just as much, if not more so, than the democrats.

Mozilla is not exactly a product for end users. At least, it is not the general end user that the Mozilla project has in mind.

The Mozilla goal is not to enable users to read the web. The Mozilla goal is to provide a sane platform for developers and users to communicate via web and related standards. I prefer sanity over short-sighted pragmatism. To some like me, this seems to be a desirable long-term goal.
