For all those issues, who do people call? Not Microsoft... Pfft, they call Dell, HP, or whomever they bought their box from.
Thats because they paid very little for that copy of the OS, if you buy a copy of windows off the shelf (instead of the OEM copies that come with PCs), you get Microsoft support.

We've resisted the temptation to map the next-gen format war to Greek tragedy this long, but if Sony CEO Howard Stringer keeps giving speeches calling the conflict a "stalemate" and "a matter of prestige," we're not going to be able to hold off much longer. Speaking in Manhattan, Stringer said while "it's a difficult fight," Blu-ray was winning "on the merits" for a time before Paramount went HD DVD exclusively and that now the issue would be decided on other factors, like prestige -- but that "it's not as important as all that." He further went on to say that there had been a chance for unity before he became CEO, and that he wished he could go back and try to make it happen. If we had to say, it seems as Stringer would certainly like to win, but he's resigned himself to whatever outcome may be in store. Of course, he didn't hesitate to mention that the Blu-ray-packing PS3 is now the best-selling console in Europe and sales in the US have doubled after the introduction of the 40GB model, but we'll see what the numbers look like after a holiday season chock-full of $200 Toshiba HD-A2s.Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments
