Journal Journal: Conspiracy theory

Its been a few weeks since I updated my little journal here... Mainly because I wanted to wait till I had my aformentioned Linux PDA and used it for a while so I could write about it... and that my friends is another story of horror, suspense, and is not to mention a tale of woe.

Journal Journal: The Penguin Strikes Back

Well Palm can stick it thanks to there lack luster support and response to not supporting their own BlueTooth Cards for their own devices... So after a week or so of wondering what I was going to do with my Tungsten E handheld since Palm doesnt support its newest devices, I have come to a solution. And with a wonderful hint of irony, its a Linux solution. Sharp has out several PDAs known as the Zaurus (Zauri?) which run on a Linux kernel with some help from java. Well I guess recently since

Journal Journal: Palm and Bluetooth... whats the problem??

So as some of you may know, a few months ago I bought a PDA, a Palm Tungsten E. I chose to go with Palm vs. A M$ pocket PC as part of my continuing effort to avoid M$ when at all possible. So anyway, I was extremly happy with it. It has seriously helped me get my days in order, helps me remember things much better, and allows me to play kickass games. I carry it with me everywhere. It was easily one of my best purchases ever.
Mozilla

Journal Journal: An IE alternative

Well in light of the fact that Mozilla Firebird .8 gets released tommorrow (allegedly) I figured I would write something hehe. For anyone who doesnt know, Firebird is an open source web browser developed by the creators of Mozilla. Mozilla is actually the engine that Netscape is based on. Firebird is a project started by some of the people that worked on the Mozilla browser and its goal is to create a browser with features people actually need. Its focus is on usability and

Journal Journal: The SuperBowl and Linux! How cool is that!

So in a surprisingly good game the Pats beat the Panthers in the last minute of the game. At least it wasnt a blow out. But as usual, muc more interesting was the commercials :) I was very excited to see IBM put up an ad for Linux! How cool was that! Shake up the world!! : )

Journal Journal: Ah its Friday

Its Friday, and thats awsome. Heres a cool article I found which is a nice short summary of the history of Warez and filetrading. The article gives a good run down of how full of shit the music industry is, and how the movie industry is trying to follow. It raises the point of how the software industry has dealt with "piracy" for years, and has learned to live with it, and yet still makes huge profits.

Journal Journal: Upgrades, Counter Strike, and Linux

So I recently re-evaluated my computers upgrade path. I had previously been planning to upgrade my processor from an OCed Athlon XP 1700+ to something with the Barton core... However, I decided in the interest of being able to play games, and that I can probably squeeze more out of my current Athlon, to get a new graphics board. I did some research for a few days, and decided on getting the high mid range card, the GeForce FX 5700 Ultra. With rebates and my room mates bestbuy discount, it was

Journal Journal: Stupid People and Hockey

There are way too many things that I can buy for my computer. If only things were free... sigh. So our campus DC hub is back up, though its now located in Canada haha. YOu still get good speeds off people on campus ofcourse though. stk.servemp3.com:411 Why are there so many damn stupid people on there? I swear its worse then the old days when I was like 13 and chatting on IRC. Its like a hub full of 10 year olds!

Journal Journal: The day I blewout power to the apartment

Well I finnally paid the price for using a paperclip to fix my PCs power supply... Approximately 1 year ago I was unfortunate enough to have a new 400 watt power supply broken by my mother... as she closed a door on my box. Somehow, the door managed to break the small switch on the back of the power supply. Being unable to figure out how the broken plastic rocker switch, a ball bearing, and a spring came together to complete the circuit... and being unable to find a replacement, I turned to pa

Journal Journal: I was productive today

Well, today was spent shoveling snow and organizing/throwing out crap in my room. Fun stuff. But at least productive. I advise everyone to go to

Journal Journal: The Plan

So I figure that I will use this service of /. to be able to put up lots of links for everyone so I dont take up space in my profile haha. Or at least save it for important stuff. For starters I was very happy to notice the other day that the full Miracle movie website is up. Well most of it. It still says games are coming, thats very exciting. But as of now it has trailers, wallpapers, and buddy icons, and more :)
