Journal Bill Dog's Journal: our beloveds 3
Basically, lady gets her beloved dog Booger cloned, who defended her in an attack and helped her manage the physical disabilities she sustained therein.
So the last line of the article is:
Ra said his firm eventually aims to clone about 300 dogs per year
and is also interested in duplicating camels for customers in the Middle East.
Why funny? (Score:1)
I assume you think it's funny to clone camels, but camels are domesticated similar to cows and are used for similar purposes (in addition to being excellent desert transportation). Cloning genetically strong camels in arab regions would be analogous to cloning genetically strong cows or horses here.

The juxtaposition wasn't in terms of cows or horses or other such food or work animals, it was with a companion animal. A beloved pet, a member of the family, an unbreakable bond of love and trust. Are Mid Easterners that way with their camels?!?
Re: (Score:1)
Not that I'm aware of. At least... it seems like a camel would make for a very unwieldy pet. I can't say as I've ever actually been particularly nearby one. I do know people who keep an alpaca as a pet, however. It smells something horrible.
It is an odd frame of reference switch now that you mention it, though.
