Comment Can Google add RCS support for Android? (Score 3) 23

Can Google put some pressure on Google to add RCS support for Android?

No, seriously. I've been trying to get it working for years - and all I get is "RCS chats aren't available for this device". If Apple can make it work on iPhones, I'm sure Google can make it work on my OnePlus 8 device, too. In fact, what does hardware have to do with anything? This sounds like a software feature.

Iâ(TM)d just like to interject for a moment. What youâ(TM)re refering to as SystemD-OS, is in fact, GNU/SystemD-OS, or as Iâ(TM)ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus SystemD-OS. SystemD-OS is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

As the kids say, DYOR and NFA, but now is a time to be looking at leap puts on big Wall Street firms and TBTF banks, not holding onto broad index funds and thinking recovery is around the corner.

Well, puts can be expensive. I wonder if there's a stock I could buy instead - something with a negative beta, so it could be used to hedge against a market crash? Ideally, also over-shorted and under-valued.

I bought a Dell Latitude e7450, and quite happy with it. It does not come with Linux pre-installed, unfortunately, but other than that, it works great. (The only problem I've had was: the touchpad was detected as a mouse and therefore things like tap-to-click were not configurable. I'm now running a patched kernel - but looks like the patches went into 4.9, so it won't be a problem anymore.)

Why does my geographical location determine whether or not I'm allowed to access the content I paid for? If I buy a physical book or a DVD, am I not allowed to read or watch it if I travel to another country? Of course I am. Why is streaming video different?

As for licensing deals: as a consumer, I don't need to know any of that; that's not my problem. And if different countries have different laws, that's fine - but it's not Netflix' job to enforce them.
