Funny that. living in London and not having a driveway to charge on has not stopped any of us on the street from getting an EV. We have street lamps that have a charge port which we all use quite happily. I charge up as often as i used to have to fill up a petrol car. its up to the local authority to get all the street lamps converted to LED and then get companies to apply to update them to have a charger.
