Journal BWJones's Journal: Want to make $5000.00? 8

I figure its a long shot, but why not try Slashdot? If anybody here knows a cardiologist who wants to move to Southern Utah (St. George), let me know. If we hire him/her, I'll cut you a check for $5,000.00 US as a finders fee. If you know a pulmonologist, the same deal holds.

  • was that that would be a great way to get rid of a doc or two. ha ha

    • ha! a good cardiologist is worth their weight in gold; after hunting for one for 3 years, i wouldn't give them up for anything. In short, any one i COULD afford to give up wouldn't be worth it when they got there, and any one that would be worth it, i can't afford to give up.

  • If that little corner of Utah is listed as an "underserved area", it can be a Green Card ticket for a foreign practitioner. Thus, don't fear the international market.

Oh, it most certainly *is* an "underserved area" and is listed as such. Green Card applicants are more than welcome.

  • I know a couple of doctors here in Costa Rica. I'll ask around, but it may take some time. Please post a follow up if you fill the positions.
  • My father is very good friends with Steven Horowitz, the head of Cardiology/The Heart Institute at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York. As far as I know, this guy is one of the top cardiologists in the nation if not the world.

There's absolutely no way he'd move out to Utah, but if you'd like a phone number or email address to ask some questions, I can definitely get one for you. And that's free if it'll be beneficial; couldn't hurt to try.

You can reach me at my gmail, antifreeze42.

I am assuming said cardiologist or pulmonologist would be going out there for a clinical practice position, is that right? Do you require board certification?

Yessir, a clinical practice position. And if they are not board certified, they need to be board eligible.

Center meeting at 4pm in 2C-543.
