Ai does things we could not do before.
It can help us solve math problems better than most professional mathematicians. (high bar)
It can draw better than the average human. (low bar)
It can write better than the average human. (low bar)
It can write and perform music better than the average human (low bar)
It can do a google search and summarize the results better than the average human (low bar)
It can direct a phone call better than the standard automation. (low bar)
It can fool idiots by speaking English
Problems with it:
1) It does not understand truth, accuracy, or hierarchical authority.
2) It does not know how to learn on it's own. Instead it is designed to be taught by a human being.
3) It requires far more electricity and water per task than a human being does. Basically, a data center is the rough equivalent of a human town.
AI is not equipped to replace human beings in most jobs.
As far I know, it can be used to help expert mathematicians, hack computers, write personalized porn, and solve many of the very specialized math issues such as protein folding, looking for new medicines, etc.
"Voting Machines" come in 3 types:
1. DRE where your vote is Directly Recorded Electronically.
2. Ballot counters where your vote is recorded on a paper ballot and the machine is fed them, counts them and spits back out the ballot to be saved.
3. Ballot markers that mark a paper ballot and you then send it through a ballot counter.
1. There are only 6 US states where DRE machines are used at all, only Lousiana uses them for all districts. All 6 of those states want to get rid of the DRE machines and switch to paper ballots and Ballot Counters. Trump could easily hack Louisiana
2. Ballot counters can be easily checked to see if they are hacked. Just hand count 1000 ballots and feed them to the machine. No one is going to bother hacking them.
3. Ballot Marking Devices are typically used by people with vision issues. If you do not have vision issues you can ask to use the BMD and visually check to see if it marked the paper ballot correctly. No one is going to hack them.
It is reasonable to be very concerned about the state of Ohio being hacked. But if the Democrats win Ohio, they will win the US senate even without Ohio.

Note, AI sources have lied about DRE machines. Do not trust AI.
Cause if it was profitable, he would keep the shares.
I do not give them money.
I consider them all to be fraudsters. Specifically they use the words "sell" , "buy", etc. when they are not selling you anything, they are renting you stuff.
People should not be allowed to misuse these words, it encourages ignorance in the younger generation.
I expect a lot of these game companies to change to a system where:
1) You pay for a yearly contract to play ANY of their games.
2) Despite them having only one or two games that people want to play, in addition to 8+ crappy games that no reasonable person would pay to play.
This allows them to screw over people in a manner similar to what they do now.
Linked in was an attempt to redo the hiring process.
The problem is doing it online is not an advantage. If they had come up with any real advantage, they would have become important.
One of the major reasons people get into the various forms of poor trap is that they have a network of people they love and help but are worse off than them.
The single parent keeping their teen age kid alive.
Who also makes sure her mother gets her medication
Who also has a brother/sister in rehab.
The people that have a good support network (middle class parents that occasionally buy them diapers) are the ones that have the time and energy to get a good job.
Note taking is not illegal. But if your notes involve the exact frequencies used so that it is POSSIBLE to create an audio duplicate than it counts as recording.
I.E. If you make a digital recording it is the same as an analog recording.
But you did raise some very good points.
I think you are right about the technology. It should ALREADY be good enough to detect that there are multiple human voices being detected and should therefore know that it is illegal to listen. It would be child's play to have the devices automatically say "You are being recorded" every time it hears a new voice for the first time.
Not sure about the owner being responsible, I bet most people do not know they are always recording. That would be a viable defense.
In America, there are two general types of states. One party states that require permission from one person to record a conversation and All party states (sometimes called two party states) that require permission from everyone being recorded. Note, implied consent is legal where people are informed they are being recorded must object / hang up.
Six of the All party states require permission even in person:
California, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Montana.
Does this not mean that every single one of the Devices that listen to a conversation violate the laws of these six states? are they illegal to buy in those six states?
Do people that own these have to put a sign up warning that visitors are being recorded?
Claude agents, like human people, are much better at finding problems than they are at patching them without causing more problems.
As someone that posts on slashdot you should know it is a lot easier to complain about something than to fix it.
The people object to us giving them random drugs and then dissecting their full sized organs.
You gave a true but irrelevant answer.
When someone says they are not making contracts with Flock that is ALWAYS bullshit. It is an executive telling you what they did yesterday, not what they are doing tomorrow. You are looking at the middlemen who always lie, not the top dog.
Getting them to say things is worthless, not matter what they say.
The top dog are judges and legislatures that interpret makes laws not local councils talking about their current contracts.
When they speak, they talk about what is legal and illegal, not specific businesses. When they outlaw Flock, they outlaw all of their competitors.
As for RING, that is an entirely different business than Flock. The far majority of people that object to "FLOCK" will not put in RING cameras.
