In a world with unpredictable climate and rising sea levels that is leading to global socio-econimic collapse building reactors that
may find themselves un-attended and un-maintained - this is a recipe for disaster.
If you cannot see this, i guess your bank balance must be on par with Donald Trump.

The current trajectory we are on leads to a situation where there will not be enough clean potable water for all life on the planet by 2030.
Perhaps this ecocidal project might buy us some more time - but the chances are it wont be completed before this happens.

There is a way we could avoid this without the ecocidal construction projects.

Most of our clean water is used to water animal feed crops that are fed to the animals we eat and for the animals themselves.
Fact : It takes approximately 660 gallons of water to produce a single hamburger and thats excluding the bun and trimmings.
Some people eat meat every single day multiple times, others believe we are obligate carnivores.

This is not true. The least ecocidal way to protect our water supplies is to drastically reduce the
amout of meat we consume. Better still stop eating it entirely.

That our solution to increase water supply is to commit more ecocide, and not tackle the root cause
only serves to confirm the fact that we are still on a trajectory towards socio economic collapse , climate breakdown and mass extinctions with only a 5% chance of changing course.

The energy usage of AI on banks of GPU's in datacentres is a major obstacle in efforts to combat climate change.
Competing over who has the most powerful AI is only going to make this situation worse.

You might worry about losing your job to an AI , but the truth is that once again we have more confirmation that we are on the wrong trajectory. With a 5% chance of changing course to one that does not end in socio economic collase, climate breakdown and eventually mass extinction.

There is simply no chance when these are the whims and attitudes of those who are supposed to be steering this
