I'm not sure if I'm in the minority but when I see any Live TV service like this or Sling TV, they seem overpriced. I don't subscribe to Live TV (Cable, etc) because it's comprised of a bunch of shows I either have no interest in, hate or don't fit with my schedule. I have no reason to pay more for that unwanted crap, then a fully on demand service where I can choose what I want and mold it to my schedule, for less.

Back in February, I had Team Viewer running 24/7 on an Ubuntu Desktop. I had a "strong" password, using letters, numbers and symbols. I was at a customer site installing a new Asterisk phone system and suddenly I get notifications from Paypal that I'm buying large amounts of virtual currency with NCSoft. It took me all of 5 minutes to realize what was happening and change my Paypal password and in that time, several grand was spent. It took me a week to get it all fixed, which isn't that bad.

Team Viewer Support couldn't care less. I asked why they wouldn't even notify on an account that's never been accessed from outside the country and they had no answers. Now, what could I have done better? Setup Multi-Factor Authentication for Team Viewer and Paypal. So, some of the responsibility is mine. However, I find it very strange that someone could have hacked or guessed that account's password. I asked if they had a breach and they reported that there were no problems, of course. Notification and confirmation of suspicious activity should have been implemented by them a long time ago.

Just in case others weren't aware, there will no longer be 32 bit ISO images of RHEL or CentOS. So, you'll only have the option of 64 bit from this point forward. You can always install an older release, of course.

I'm curious how this will affect me. I've been doing a lot of CentOS based Asterisk systems. Last time I checked, Digium absolutely would not support the 64 bit version of their drivers and so it was recommended to use 32 bit if you want support. It could have changed by now, I'll have to look into it again.

Several Linux users are reporting audio issues. The initial movies play audio properly but then the sound of the game is pretty bad. Running Ubuntu 14.04 x64, I was able to resolve all sound issues by doing the following:

1. Typed: sudo nano /etc/pulse/daemon.conf
2. Found and changed the following parameters:
A. default-fragments = 5
B. default-fragment-size-msec = 2
3. Saved file (Ctrl + O), Exited (Ctrl + X)
4. Typed: pulseaudio -k
5. Launched Civ 5, no audio issues now.

Seconded! There's no way in hell NIS performed at this level on a legitimate test. It's shit and that's putting it nicely.

Here's what I did in Ubuntu 12.04 to watch them:

1. Use Firefox.
2. Make sure Firefox is closed.
3. Run: sudo apt-get install libhal1 hal
4. Run: rm -rf ~/.adobe/Flash_Player/NativeCache ~/.adobe/Flash_Player/AssetCache ~/.adobe/Flash_Player/APSPrivateData2
5. Launch Firefox and enjoy.

After I did this in Firefox, I was able to watch them in Chromium too but ran into problems trying to get it working in the first place in Chromium. I've read that Google Chrome simply won't play them on Linux because of some recent changes Google made. So, yea... not as easy as it should be but it should be watchable unless I've missed a different reason why they're not watchable for so many users.

I don't know if it's just me but my computers pretty much never die. I've been building them myself since the mid 90's. I stopped upgrading when Core 2 Duo came out because the PC I built still runs everything great today. I wouldn't use the Athlon XP 2000+ system I have that still runs because it doesn't run everything great but it does still work. I really don't see it being a problem with computers lasting so much longer but I could be an odd case since I don't buy stuff from Dell, HP, etc.
