Summary: Appalling customer service. The design of the payment section of the website leads a customer to choose between a paid trial and a paid subscription. One has to then read the 'small print ‘ beyond this to discover the trial period needs to be cancelled or a subscription fee will be billed. The company claims a reminder email will be sent but I did not receive this. I explained the mistake to customer service and requested a refund. They refused.

Positive: Nothing. I do not have any positive comments to share but have plenty of negative comments about the practices employed by this company.

Negative: I only wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. I too opted for the 0.99 trial and was shocked to find $49.99 deducted from my PayPal card a week later. I contacted the company and explained my situation but they refused a refund. When I kept pushing, they simply stopped answering my emails. Like others, I did not receive an email alerting me me to the upcoming charge as the company claimed. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Summary: Totally bad service. They should be clear with their terms and even send reminders of renewal before they renew subscriptions.

Positive: I did not like anything about the app or their service. They ripped me off when I signed up for a week. They renewed the subscription at a higher cost than I had chosen initially. Why deduct more than $50 for a week's subscription of $0.99. You deal with them at your own risk.

Negative: I liked that I could use their app to edit my pdf document. There aren't many apps like that. They should be truthful to consumers. Ripping people off of their hard earned money is not a good practice.

Summary: This is an example of the worst type of scam. Without conscience they steal your money. Beware and avoid.

Positive: Absolutely nothing This company is a disgrace. May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits on your luxury yacht

Negative: Disgraceful company relying on misinformation and not noticing exorbitant charges after initial 0,99c charge.

Summary: Beware of the PDF Guru and their trial period. Should you choose the $0.99 USD option it is important to understand that you will be signed up for a subscription at a cost of $49.99 USD per month. When I saw that this money had been withdrawn from my account I contacted PDF Guru and they stated that they had sent me a letter to confirm my subscription. This letter from PDF Guru was never received by me.

Positive: The PDF Guru website is slick and deceptive. It's ease of use distracts the user from looking more closely at the fine print which displays further down the page in small grey print.

Negative: PDF Guru are deceptive in the online practices. PDF Guru make no mention of money until your document has been converted. PDF Guru sign you up for a subscription, access your credit card or PayPal account and begin charging you $49.99 USD / $80 AUD.

Summary: I lost money on this stupid app. Do not do it. Not worth it. They clearly state the will not issue a refund if you are not aware of the price after the introductory offer and want your money back.

Positive: It was fast and easy to use, and it was really simple to convert from pdf to text. So, I liked it because I needed something that was quick and got my word document sent over fast.

Negative: After the $7.99 introductory offer, I was charged $49.99 on the 6th day of usage. It is a scam.

Summary: I have never encountered a website company that offers a trial session, which would automatically turn into a paid subscription for the service. However, PDF Guru is a scamming website company. They advertised a $0.99 one-off PDF conversion service, but when I paid for it, they obtained my credit card details. After 7 days, they did not email or notify me, but they charged USD49.99 on my credit card as a subscription fee without my consent.

Positive: Nothing. This website is a complete scam, there is nothing genuine about it. I strongly advise against using this product.

Negative: I wrote an email to the company to request a refund because I did not receive a confirmation email from them before making the payment. However, they claimed that they had already sent me an email, and that it may have ended up in my SPAM folder. How can a website company process a payment without confirmation from the user? This seems like a complete scam! Unfortunately, I am one of the victims who paid USD 49.99 for nothing.

Summary: Extremely unsatisfactory experience. Customer service is unhelpful. There is no willingness to try to find a satisfactory resolution of a complaint.

Positive: It did the job of converting the file, but you can't see the cost until you have gone through the trouble of uploading etc and provided your email address.

Negative: Very misleading advertising about pricing. I paid for a 7 day trial then woke up this morning to discover I had been subscribed for a monthly fee of $49.99 USD (more than $70 CAD). Customer service claims a billing notification was sent, but I received no such email. There was no willingness to find solution. Terrible customer service. This is a money grab.

Summary: Be careful!

Positive: DO NOT USE this site, as there are so many victims being conned by this website.

Negative: They advertised a $0.99 one-off PDF conversion service; when you pay for it, they will get hold of your credit card details. At this stage you will think you are only paying for $0.99 and this is an one off service.

However, 7 days later, they will not email or notify you, but they will process a credit card transaction out of your credit card for USD 49.99. There is no warning or email notification. (They say it could be an email in the spam but NO email at all after I checked)

When you email their customer service for a refund, the will not do a refund, and you will be out of the pocket for USD 49.99 for nothing. Their service was pretty average, the one-off PDF conversation I bought does not work as it advertised.

Summary: I feel totally scammed. I invested time in using the product but cannot get back the output without a surprise demand for payment.

Positive: Never got as far as getting any output, so I can't really find any pros.

Negative: You can not find out the cost of the service until you've worked to edit your document.

Summary: Absolutely do not recommend this website, product is extremely low quality, you have to pay for the free trial and they won't refund you even though the product is useless. If no stars was an option they'd get that rating.

Positive: Nothing, it's possibly even a scam website, that will teach me to click on a sponsored link! Do not use this product!

Negative: If you like low res, blurry PDF documents that you can't use then this company is for you, but if you want documents that you can actually use DO NOT use PDF Guru.
