CS-Cart Multi-Vendor Reviews

Summary: I don't have a lot of experience with different eCommerce engines, however I know well about CMS system and current trends. I've chosen CS-Cart because it's not that pricey for multi-vendor features and there is not much discovered lack of security compared to other publishers. CS-Cart looks long time developed with some functions needed to be updated for better experience, especially for newbie users in eCommerce. The good thing is I can see once a month a new version of CS-Cart. There is 30 days cost free installation so it's easy to try it first. Customization for more advanced users demands knowledge of Smarty + PHP and API of CS-Cart. You must choose carefully proper template to avoid any additional customization or even widgets. A lot of add-ons helps to enhance usability. Overall it's good software.

Positive: - Every update includes a lot of new features
- Very energetic free support forums (Russian and international)
- A lot of add-ons
- Possible to run shop without hiring programmer for customization
- Some countries have really great support

Negative: - Point-and-click and drag & drop interfaces not fully developed (some parts of interface I have to organize by manually by select priority number),
- List of templates are limited or they are a bit outdated,
- Still old jQuery library supported,
- Most add-ons cost a bit or their support have been limited to 6 months, also software has limited full support to 3 months only.
- Interface languages creates a copy of each product description in database even there is only one language description.

Summary: CS-Cart Multi-Vendor is the perfect solution for e-Commerce! I've been using it for MONTHS now. I can safely advise!

Positive: Love the customisation aspect of the platform. It has the ability to install plugins and themes to get the look and functionality that you are after. It also has so many great features already built in, and is a great tool to get you started, as well as if you are an experience e-commerce user and most importantly they offer great support.

Negative: It needs to purchase credits for technical support after some time with a bit high cost.

Theme editor need to be expanded. Takes time to learn! Though videos are available, it's still a daunting task to learn it.

Summary: Value for money, I will certainly recommend the product. It has worked well for me so far. I am happy with the product.

Positive: Packed with features, adaptable, scalable and with lots of add ons.

The software has a lot of features, enough to get you started and even run a viable ongoing marketplace.

Adaptable- it can be used for different niche, both physical and non-physical products.

It is scalable, one of the key things I like about it, and plenty of ads on as at when needed.

Negative: It takes a bit of time to learn the features and may need a developer in some cases.

Too much and too frequent upgrades.

Summary: Overall my experience been good but it is is mainly based on the setup process so far. We have just started using the cart so how it'll work under pressure is yet to be seen.

Positive: It is easy to setup. I am not a developer per se but I was able to set it up quite easily. A lot of support is available through CS-Cart's website and through forums. Googling your query mostly gets you the answer.

The guides and videos setup by CS-Cart are quite good.

Negative: The design and themes have their limitations and if you want make any specific change that either requires specialist programming knowledge or has to be done through CS-Cart and/or their preferred developers which can be quite costly.
Support is free for the first 90 days but after that you need to buy support credits to be able to lodge a ticket and that can be bit frustrating. Support is normally quite slow in responding back.

Summary: I researched most of the multi-vendor marketplaces available on the market before settling with CS-Cart. One of the main reason I went with this software was the flexibility it provides and the ease of use once it's all set up. As a start-up, the initial cost was one of the primary considerations too. Although there are monthly subscription options out there also. I prefer the transparency of the CS-Cart pricing. You pay once, and you know what you have.

The software is user friendly, extensive and straightforward, with a good number of features. (I needed help to get set up and started. However, I had very limited web design experience.)

Positive: The backend and interface of the software are easy to use and fairly intuitive.

There are a good number of video tutorials for all the main components of setting the software up and customising the various pages.

There is also extensive documentation available for everything, from design to how to instal upgrades and updates.

The pre-installed layouts are very useful and have all the components a new marketplace might need.

Negative: Customer support can be slow at times.

Customer Support can also become quite pricy if you are not experienced in web design or web development and trying to DIY most of the setup.

Summary: The pros out weigh the cons when it comes to CS-Cart. I haven't really tried any other multi-vendor platforms but why would i? CS-Cart has everything you could practically ask for from such a platform.

Positive: It is user friendly,
They offer responsive websites,
Free mobile app,
And many add ons to go with it

Negative: - Limited number of support offered
- Inability to modify the shipping method section and be able to add a feature that will notify my independent couriers whenever a purchase has been made.
- Mobile app wasn't really appealing to the eye

Summary: Overall we're very happy with the solution from CS-Cart. We've been using it for a little more than a year and we haven't had any major issues.

Positive: - Highly scalable
- Very customizable
- Well written code
- Updated Regularly
- Lots of third party themes and add-ons available

Negative: - No Payment plan options
- Customizing can be a bit tedious
- Improvements can be made to the vendors administration panel

Summary: It may take a while to learn the ins and outs of the software, but it was worth it, after trying many different options, as it allows lots of customisation both from apps and using developers. It will certainly provide what my business needs at the moment, there are of course areas of improvement, particularly the shipping and backend usability, hopefully these are things CSCART will improve upon for future updates.

Positive: A very useful, well priced software, the great thing is hosting it on your own servers, which makes it favourable to SAAS solutions.
So much functionality, if anything too much in the default package, however thankfully I was able to strip down the bits I didn't need, with the useful Add-Ons manager. And of course add extra functionality through the marketplace which is easy.
Was better than other multivendor solutions I have tried.
Front end themes can make it look really good, and usability is pretty good.

Negative: The Backend functionality for vendors in multivendor are not so good but workable.
The Shipping Administration is a bit complicated, but again works for me at the moment and of course, pretty much anything can be customised.

Summary: There is no alternative to CS-Cart if you are building a serious marketplace and don't want to spend a high amount of money to getting a software developed only for your marketplace. Even if you are growing there is always a way to enhance the software to your needs due to the relatively open software concept.

Positive: 1. Very rich features already built in
2. Loads of useful add-ons available
3. Seems to be very stable

Negative: 1. Since it serves "the world" some special things sometimes have to be adapted (e.g. the decimal separator in Germany) - but that was never a problem due to the very helpful Helpdesk of CS-Cart.
2. The RMA has really to be approved to the needs of special regions (e.g. in the EU you have to return also shipping costs, etc.).

Summary: Overall I think that the product is brilliant value for money, and offers a lot of enhanced features and themes that enable you to setup your Ecommerce site quickly and effective. Would definitely recommend.

Negative: It would be great if the platform could be hosted online like a Wordpress site for example, and have a really nice setup guide process, as it would take all of the effort and worry around getting the application setup correctly out of the equation!

Summary: I am very happy with CS-cart so far. It allows me to build a solution with a professional look and it is easy to use. I can also connect it to third party features that I do require for my business.

Positive: This software has a lot of features and design options to fit your needs. The level of customization is higher than any other solution I have worked with before. It also provides an interesting portfolio of adds-on as well as external resources that make this software a very competitive asset for your business.

Negative: I have no technical background, which might have been the reason why it took me some time to get used to the many features and capabilities of C-Cart. However, once you allow yourself some time to practice with it, this software will become easy and fun

Summary: There is a lot you need to know before you can begin using this. Please consider your background before starting this, or hire someone with the correct software background so they can help guide you to your dream website. There is some coding involved, so be sure you know at minimum of some basic coding skills. This is a great platform with a lot of support but would require a lot of time down the line to get to where you wanted.

Positive: There are a lot of great ways this E-commerce platform can guide you along the way if your a beginner. Aside from that, there are a lot of applications that you can integrate into your website and the platform is easy to customize. This platform is a great way to start your own e-commence website. Very powerful and complex.

Negative: Despite the fact that there are lots of videos to aid how to use this multi-vendor program. There are a lot of steps that lead you down the rabbit hole. You definitely need the customer support to aid you along the way. I personally got stuck because I couldn't set up PayPal with my multi-vendor website and thus could never set up my website in the end. From what I remember Paypal was an item that could not be integrated into our website, as you would need a developer to install PayPal into your website. My team is not experience, so we sort of feel we wasted our money. You definitely need to know a bit of background of how to set up websites to even begin to understand how this whole process works.

Summary: I can say CS-Cart have carefully designed a back-end and front-end e-commerce operational system that is very friendly to use. They have provided easy and friendly interface that accommodates both dummies and experts; to enable consumers, merchants, manufacturers and other participants to conduct business in the electronics marketplace efficiently.

Positive: I started using CS-Cart in 2015, and I have seen them build a relationship with their customers by the updates and changes they have made to best service their customers. They understand what I need whenever I ask them for a modification, that is very important for developers to be able to do exactly what their clients are looking for and beyond.

Negative: One area where I would want them to improve is the default layout settings at the admin pages. Add more free Theme templates.

Summary: We have bought this 7 plus months ago and still in set up mode, wish there were availability of qualified people at CS cart that can help do the set up too as a package. The happiest customers are ones who have things moving forward.

Positive: CS-Cart lists a lot of features.
Has potential to create a strong framework for a medium size marketplace.
There are good themes available now which have to be purchased.

Negative: While the list of features is long, they are not easy to turn on unless you can find a CS-Cart developer with lots of experience.
The most important part for us, the multivendor aspect, it has to be easy to load products, that is not as easy looking at it from a vendor aspect.
The 4.12.1 has come up with the Bulk Product import, but it's not simple to get working for a non developer.
