I'm going to tack this Slashdot celebration onto an existing event - the 'Overclockers Australia - Brisbane Pie & Bowling Shenanigans'.
Date: 13th October
Time: around 7-7:30
Location 1: Mick O'Malleys Irish pub, under the Queens St mall near the Wintergarden. If we are lucky we'll score the 'Library' spot.
Location 2: Following that will be Strike ten-pin bowling upstairs.
Location 3: Union Jacks pub. We normally get kicked out after an indeterminate time.
Location 4: Wherever we end up next. In th

ahhhhh, is there actually any way to contact me via slashdot? I can't see anything :/
Anyway, I'll try making a /. sign or something to stick on the table. You can also hit my hotmail address: j_harrison AT hotmail.com
Give me a contact to send you my mobile phone # if you do so.
I'm not 100% sure on the time either, it could be 6:30. I'll confirm asap.

Pre-dinner drinks & pool at the Brewhouse. I'm pretty sure we were going to get kicked out of O'Malleys for being too rowdy ;) Strike was good. On the way to the Vic/Union Jacks we stopped by the Brewhouse again for a few more drinks. Shadey didn't get into the Vic, bouncer thought she was too drunk :( Went to the Embassy for a couple fo hours, then got in the Vic after that (dunno why we bothered though, boring at that time of night). Dropped some people of at cab ranks, then stumbled home around 3:30.

Ok, I had a damn good time, as it seems did almost everyone bar one dude that was waaaay to drunk at the start of the night, and had to leave early.
Lesson - don't get too drunk on your own booze before you head out!
There will be a lot of photos to sort through, as quite a lot of people had digicams/camphones. I'll be sorting mine out later, then I'll grab the best from the other people and make another album or something.
Is there somewhere on Slashdot where I can upload pics? Or somewhere else where

OK, so the parties over, and hangovers are apparent all round.
We were denied entry to 2 pubs for being too drunk, and I'm pretty sure we were nearly kicked out of O'Malleys for being too rowdy.
AFAIK there were no serious injuries, and everyone eventually made it back _somewhere_ to recover ;)

I walked past O'Malleys that night at about 9pm. If only I'd checked this page earlier I would have stopped by! (I could have made an effort to be there on time).

But then I'm getting married next weekend and was on a buck's night so had other things to do! ;)
