Good news everyone. This option is for the /. fans in San Diego. I live in the college area but I may be able to secure a pad in OB. I think a get-together in San Diego proper would be beneficial to those of us who want to mingle in a less formal setting as well as not have to worry about the drunken trip home from Carlsbad ( Where the "Main" San Diego /. party will be held ). Let me know if you are interested. Note: I can provide ride(s) until I start drinking :)

KS Sorrento Mesa is sensible, as that's the location of a *LOT* of tech companies in SD. It is central, and it's well known. Carlsbad is way out on the north side of the county, there is no easy way to get there except for driving for most of the attendees, and is convenient for no one. If you're going to move locations, one of these other venues sounds much better:
The Stone Bistro, in Escondido, has much better food, better beer selection, better garden, and

  If KS wouldn't be open on the day the party is held, I 2nd Callahan's. They have pretty good beer and decent appetizers. I usually hang out with co-workers there on Friday for happy hour.
