So I work in Glendale and live in West Hills so this sounds about right, oh yeah and generally Monday nights work out well for me.

I have a lot of stuff going on right now with family obligations so I can't for-sure attend but will let you know.

    OK the 20th was going to be a problem as I was planning on going racing (autocrossing) on the 21st (which involves getting up at the crack of a** and driving to the 909) but I had forgotten that the 21st is my mom's birthday so no racing for me so the party is still possible.

Do we know where this might be? I'm guessing that the venue could be affected by how many people sign up. Also what might be convenient for where people live/work.

At 19, I'm on the younger side of the slashdot demographic and this sounds like a neat chance to talk up older geeks. There's only a 50/50 chance I'll be able to make it though so I didn't mark that I'm attending.

The San Fernando Valley Linux User Group wanted to commemmorate Slashdot's 10th Anniversary, and basically what we will be doing is inviting people to join us at our usual meeting, hang out, and geek out with us. 1.) It looks like I wasn't able to get the OpenArena server thing together, so no LAN party after SFVLUG group business.

2.) ScuttleMonkey has NOT sent me my care package, goddammit. I hate being lied to. And apparently I was. However, we will get email addresses so when the belated package arrives (if it does, to be more accurate) we can arrange pickups.

3.) However, there will be burner-equipped lappies and the .ISO of Gutsy Gibbon Ubuntu and Kubuntu on premises. If you want it, bring a blank CD-R.

  1.) The balloon idea was basically scuttled because we are having really gnarly winds today, and we had something like a sandstorm this afternoon. I think it was more like a dirt storm...vacant lot nearby, dirt blowing around. I wouldn't have been able to transport a bouquet of balloons without losing some or all in the walk from the party store to Denny's. I bought these mylar table top decorations instead. Slashdot green.

    It contains 60 Slashdot anniversary t-shirts, all in size XL.
    
    I had specifically requested a few be in larger sizes (2X and 3X)...no joy. And I had hoped it would show up before the 20th...no joy.
