It just occurred to me, being slashdotters and all, that we won't know who each other is and where to sit. Due to my sometimes lacking social skills, it'd prolly be a good idea to get someone to get a table or something for everybody as opposed to mingling with everybody. I have no idea -- for all I know it'll be one of those things where only three of us show up. Anyhow. Are we just going to ask where the slashdotters are sitting, or what? Any thoughts?

    easy to pick out the group o' geeks (after the first three
    arrive, of course). For example, I can be recognized by:
    
    - a complete lack of fashion sense
    - a plethora of electronic devices (you want to bring your laptop,
    don't you?)
    - and _maybe_ a tinfoil hat (if I'm off my meds) ;-)
    
    One could also tape/pin paper cut-out characters of / and .
    onto one's jacket/hat/whatever.

I don't know if anyone there can see this. I don't think Darcy McGee's has wifi. I was just there and the place is pretty busy. I didn't see any tinfoil hats or anything obvious so I left. I only live a few blocks away though. If someone knows anything more, let me know.

I'm underaged (17); and despite the fact that I don't plan to drink I'm worried about being kicked out. Even if they don't notice right away, they still might card me. Does anyone know if it'll be a concern?

Also, I'm a bit worried bringing my laptop if there isn't any Wi-Fi at the place. What other incentive do I have besides showing off the cool factor of my tablet?
