Journal Journal: Rant about Microsoft coverage

Is it just me, or has the quality of coverage on Slashdot for anything related to Microsoft slipped dramatically in the last couple of months? I've been reading Slashdot since around, oh, 1996 (my original user ID was somehow deleted at one point), and while I never expected unbiased coverage of Microsoft, it seems like some cracks have opened up in the dam recently and crazy juice has been pouring out.

If you want examples, check out my last few comments and the stories/comments to which they're linked. My personal favorite was http://developers.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/08/07/1824250. There were about 350 comments, many of which were a variation on "I told you so," or "Doesn't this just prove it how crappy IE is?" I think there were a total of 3 commenters who noticed that the original article was posted 1 year + 5 days before the article on Slashdot as opposed to "last week," and it was referring to IE7 Beta 1 as opposed to the recently released Beta 3.

You know, I do feel a little better now. I should rant in anonymous forums more often!
