I think i figured it out...
The reason my post (and the parent!) were marked redundant even though nobody had posted anything like it at all before is because some stupid moderation-demigods were perusing the sea of comments with the "newest first" option enabled, but they thought, since they were ID10TS, that our posts were unoriginal. Seriously, sometimes I want the names of the people who mod me down so I can present formal evidence of their own stupidity.

I'm feeling bitter... grrr.

Today I learned that only diehard Linux Zealots (like myself, but somehow above me) are moderators, and that anything that doesn't fit with what they like is modded down for flamebait... even when only trying to be impartial and not show your own obvious Linux bias.

Note to self: always show the pro-Linux bias!

maybe i just didn't know what I was talking about there... but why was I rated down so much on the post about redhat? It is becoming more like Microsoft. I was surprised with the "activation" in RH9, even though it's only for the semi-automatic updates... still kinda creepy. I guess people just don't like to hear anything bad about a Linux based company? Maybe? No? Oh well. Maybe they'd be nicer if they knew I was using RedHat9.

I can't believe i got a "troll" rating for my moon post. I guess some jokes just don't come across well over the internet... because everyone took it seriously. Oh well.
