Journal Journal: Ah, Forget It

Ah, just forget the whole journal thing. I read Slashdot for the news and to post comments, not to write some lame stories about my life. (Translation into English: I'm too lazy to come up with anything interesting) Maybe you'll catch some more of my wonderfully interesting life </sarcasm> at a later date. In the meantime, I'll just be surfing along with my usual habits of arguing against censorware and watching the climbing usage of Linux. Have a nice day.

Yes, I do realize that this is, in fact, the most interesting journal I've ever written. So shut up already.

Journal Journal: Misinformation Abounds...

*sigh* So much misinformation out there these days...

The Supreme Court today ruled that the Child Online Protection Act (COPA) cannot be invalidated merely because it applies "community standards" to defining what is "adult material."

Suddenly, all the major news sites were proclaiming that the Court had given the law a clean bill of health to go ahead. It hadn't. All it said was that the appeals court had to find some other way to justify saying that the law is unconstitutional. That's quite easy, considering the district court findings of fact.

Sheesh, will these media giants ever learn?
