For months I've been hearing of upcoming Sun's June 1st big announcement, and I think I got if figured out: Microsoft will announce it's buying Sun Microsystems. This makes a lot of sense. First and foremost, they both face the same unstoppable enemy: Linux. Second, both companies complement each other very well. Microsoft dominates the desktop, and Sun is still strong on the server. Sun's technology would help beef up Microsoft's server technologies. Also, Sun's current market value of $15B is just change in Gates pocket. And finally, can you imagine Microsoft gaining control of Java?
