I'm now all set to start work over in the States.

I'll be teaching two courses next semester, and will thusly be leaving the UK tomorrow for the great Northeastern U.S. of A. to prepare course material and continue my research.

MondoMor's last journal entry contained some very kind words for me. I'm not sure what "troll" means, but I'm sure he really likes me and thinks my comments are fantastic.

Over lunch today, I re-did proofs for all of Newton's Laws for craps and smuggles.

A much-despised collegue of mine found out that I post here at Slashdot and had a swarm of moderation-enabled accounts push all of my posts down to ones, zeros, and even negative-ones in some instances.

This was truly upsetting, and most likely resulted from his hatred of my current research topics and success (he's in a similar field, of course, but isn't as successful).

I also canavered a few hot undergrads to assist with my research, and he was very snarly with me about that issue as well.

I didn't realize that this many people had moderation abilities. They seem to happen very frequently and very quickly. I had 48 messages accumulate over the past hour or two, mostly from negative moderations to my usually informative/insightful comments. And this morning I had at least 30 or so moderations. If anyone's being abused here, it's me.
