Journal Journal: I bought a netbook...

Well, after much deliberation (and being letdown by lenovo's ideapad-netbook), I broke down and got an 1000HA. Saved a few bucks skipping on bluetooth, and since no one I know has wireless-n (we've still got a psp and an old computer both running 802.11b), I figure I won't need it for awhile. When I do, I'll shell out the 18 and upgrade the network card.

And, I have to say I'm quite pleased with it. This isn't cognitive dissonance, I'm actually and truly pleased!

Journal Journal: Why I won't buy a netbook.

Since I heard about the EEE, I've been intrigued. But until one of the hardware companies decides to put a touchpoint/pointer stick on a full sized keyboard and get rid of the touchpad - I won't bite.

I'd love to have a portable computer that I take everywhere - as it stands, I take my not-so-portable dv5000 everywhere - and actually be able to type and mouse around. Honestly, I can't understand why people settle for those tiny, tiny keyboards. *sigh*
