You seem to be someone who actually take into account how far we've come in our ability to carelessly cause truly catastrophic outcomes for humanity with little oversight or consideration. How long will it be before somebody working in a garage lab with commercially available equipment designs a virus that's only supposed to wipe out people with the wrong skin colour, only to find out we really are NOT all that different? How long before some billionaire tech bro unilaterally decides the latest iteration of his pet AI will make him even richer, and could never get out of control? Does anybody believe that arrogant twat who killed himself and a few passengers in his toy store mini-sub would have behaved any differently if he'd been working in AI, or virology or small scale "risk free" nuclear energy instead of submersibles?

It's getting easier and easier for a few people to have a massive impact on civilization, and very few people seem to realize how rapidly we're rushing toward some cliff we don't even see yet.

The number of times I have been called "Boomer" and "out of touch", and disregarded when pointing out the disadvantages of giving away your privacy, giving away your ownership rights, and even giving away your right to control the software running on your own computer...well, I've lost count.

So I have zero sympathy for people in this situation. If they'd dug in their heels and refused to be turned into tenants on their own hardware, they wouldn't have this problem. Pay up, folks. You got exactly what you asked for.

The minute Trump walks into the White House, this lawsuit will disappear like teenage Ivanka whenever daddy tried to catch her getting changed. I don't know what makes me angrier, Trump's naked corruption, or the soon-to-be-forgotten Democrats who clearly knew this was going on, and waited 'til 'way too late to act. I guess we're supposed to believe those scumbags actually intended to do something about the banks, but "oh, gosh darn, the Big Bad Republicans just wouldn't let us".

They all make me sick. A pox on all their houses.

The Supreme Court has decided a president can get away with just about anything as long as they're in office and "whatever" has to do with the office. Why not give a guy orders to "CEO" Trump for the good of the country, and send him out the door with a signed presidential pardon in his pocket?

Everybody wins.
