Appreciated. For those who do not click through on that link, here is a statement from one of the sources provided on Wikipedia: "We did not wish to mislead the public into thinking that scientific issues are decided by who has the longer list of scientists!"

I certainly cannot claim that there are no scientists who, from certain persuasions, would definitely have an opinion on Evolution vs. Creation/Intelligent Design. I can also give this caution. To those of you who think that some who believe in Intelligent Design or Creation are 'ignorant', 'naive', or 'guileless' might think about others in human history who disagreed with each other.

Appreciate your reading this.

Good answer, I appreciate it. I am not sure if I can give a response to you of as high quality. I always want to try to avoid the way of speaking that a person commonly finds when this topic comes up, that of dismissal, personal attacks, angry retorts, etc.
In any event, the best I can come up with to further the conversation is to ask you this: Couldn't we also ask 'If there is a Creator, why didn't he give us super powers?'

Since you mention Creationism, I want to also mention that Creationism is not the only viewpoint of those who believe in creation as described in the Bible. As a Jehovah's Witness, I feel fairly well educated about the matter*. One of the things that I have learned about the Bible, that I often hear being associated with Creationism, is that in Genesis 1, where the creative days are described, the "days" are not referring to "24-hour periods".

From Awake magazine, September 2006: "The fact is that the Hebrew word translated “day” can mean various lengths of time, not just a 24-hour period. For example, when summarizing God’s creative work, Moses refers to all six creative days as one day. (Genesis 2:4)

I see there is a lot of critical thinking going on here.

For discussion/perspective:
Proverbs 11:5 Jehovah himself examines the righteous one as well as the wicked one, And anyone loving violence His soul certainly hates.

Note an important difference between what I see many others argue and this: It's not just whether doing what Jehovah God desires is obviously beneficial or otherwise. Nor is it doing so out of duty. Rather, most important and easiest to do when you are 'of that persuasion', is doing so out of love for God and a desire to please him.

That's my perspective.

Experiment Shows Not Washing Jeans for 15 Months is Disgusting But Safe 258

dbune writes "Young people who argue with their parents over wearing the same pair of smelly jeans can now cite the work of a 20-year old University of Alberta student who wore the same jeans for 15 months straight. From the article: 'Josh Le wore the same pair of jeans to break in the raw denim, so it would wrap the contours of his body, leaving distinct wear lines. He had his textile professor test the jeans for bacteria before washing them for the first time. The results showed high counts of five different kinds of bacteria, but nothing in the range of being considered a health hazard."

That is a really nice way of driving. As a 'slow driver' myself, sometimes i come across a big truck/etc. going 5-10 slower than the limit, and if the traffic beside me is somewhat open then I will pass. Although sometimes the fast lane is quite clear, and I go to pass, and someone comes behind me going 15+ over the limit and comes right on my butt... so selfish/foolish. By keeping some space, at least you are considering the safety of others.

As for myself, when I have the space in front of me 'hijacked' so to speak, I have learned over the last few years to not worry about it. I've tried to apply the advice a 50ish year old friend of mine told me - that he doesn't let others driving or provocations bother him. I consider myself to be 5% of the way to getting this down!

To really go on and on, it still makes me mad when I remember sitting at an intersection to turn left and enter the freeway, and I had to stop short, I think it may have been to my own inattention, nevertheless the car behind me was driven by a young woman and she was right on me when I started to move forward and so had to stop right away to avoid hitting me. She wasn't exercising much caution herself, yet she honked at me - fine, my move wasn't the best for sure. What really made me angry was when we both got on the highway and she passed me, her boyfriend/whatever sitting in the passenger seat gave me a sullen glare slouched into his window and had his middle finger raised towards me. I hate to admit that I wanted to sideswipe him right there. Not a good impulse!

I would like to refer you that 'according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, a total of 33,808 people died in motor vehicle crashes in 2009.'

Yes, we all need to consider others, no matter how rude and inconsiderate they may be. So please do likewise when someone is in "your lane", because it is not your lane, it is everyone who is driving on it's lane.
