Positive: Intuitive setup with minimal technical expertise. We were only required to run four commands to deploy the VPN server, and the rest was handled by the app itself.

Negative: Nothing too specific to write about. Maybe a smaller plan for companies with less than 5 users will be good.

Positive: The BYOS model is a fantastic option for those wanting to manage their own servers. I found the installation process to be very efficient, and customer support has been responsive and helpful. The lack of additional licensing fees is a major plus.

Negative: It would be great if there was integration available with JumpCloud SSO.

Summary: I have been conducting my research for various services lately, and most VPN as a Service providers are not transparent about which Cloud Provider they are using to host the VPN gateway, which I’m a bit concerned about. Also, many were charging north of $50 for a cloud VPS to host the VPN server. Thankfully, that was not the case with UTunnel. Unlike others, I was free to choose the cloud provider and was not forced to choose what they wanted.

Positive: I like that they are transparent about pricing. License costs are affordable, and they only charge for the server spec that you need. The price is the same as listed by the cloud provider.

Negative: No issues for me. They offer more than what I want for an affordable price. Recommended.

Summary: Utunnel is very easy to install and configure. When I encountered an issue, their support team was extremely helpful in resolving it.

Positive: I appreciate the ability to bring your own cloud VPS. You only need to purchase user licenses and attach them to your server. User and server management is straightforward with Utunnel’s web UI.

Negative: Wireguard support is only available on their MeshConnect solution. However, their Access Gateway service is a convenient alternative for setting up a cloud VPN easily.

Summary: I tried a few services like Perimeter81 and Good Access, but they don't have a bring your own server option, and so I could not setup my VPN server in my own VPC. This caused an additional hop while accessing my cloud services, causing unnecessary speed drop. Tried UTunnel, setup the VPN gateway in my own VPC. I am also happy with the support, as they quickly addressed my tickets when I needed some quick config help with my site-to-site VPN tunnels.

Positive: Latency is lesser as I've set up the VPN server directly in my cloud VPC where all my services are deployed.

Negative: Didn’t face any issues to write about. Recommended from my side.

Summary: I wanted a VPN to secure my cloud infrastructure, but my business is still not big enough to afford the costs since many of the services were very expensive. That was not the case here. I was very happy with their basic pricing plans. I might upgrade soon as I am looking for the logging feature and zero-trust access.

Negative: A cheaper plan with 2 licenses would be ideal for small businesses. However, UTunnel is still more affordable and offers great value compared to similar solutions.
