    Consistent and Cheaper

    Summary: My small accounting firm has used SmartVault for many years with very little issues. We find it consistent and much cheaper then a lot of options out there.

    Positive: SmartVault is easy to use on our end as the CPA firm, its cheaper and provides consistent service to our clients.

    Negative: There are permissions issues for our clients trying to get in their folders. We have to reset it often.

    Summary: SmartVault has allowed me to keep client files securely in the cloud without taking valuable space on my computer.

    Positive: The ability for my clients to have their sensitive documents in a secure cloud base format where we both can access anytime. Clients like the ease of finding our shared documents in one place. I have all my clients upload their employee and contractor documents into SmartVault so I can enter the information into the accounting software and the documents will always be in a secure environment.

    Negative: Excel files don't capture correctly when printing the file.

    User Friendly and Secure

    Summary: I prefer this to any other dropbox I have used in the past and truly recommend this for other offices who need high security dropbox options.

    Great for Compliance, Document Access & Sharing

    Summary: Both myself and the clients are pleased with the performance of SmartVault and I would definitely recommend it to others.

    Positive: Easy to share all vault information with the client SAFELY. Way better than trying to encrypt emails with client PII. Clients also seem to be able to navigate the vault easily and upload documents without hassle. During these COVID times, SmartVault makes document sharing safe, fast and easy, which I really appreciate. Also allows our whole team to access the same documents and be able to work more efficiently. The document storage is excellent and we are using this service to help transition to a paperless office.

    Negative: Not user friendly when it comes to sending an invitation to a client to access SmartVault. Too many steps necessary when it could just be a one click and done. Also wish you could add a client to SmartVault via the desktop application instead of just the online version.

    Excellent secure data management software

    Summary: We are glad we moved from our old document management software to SmartVault, it is secure and saves times. Also sending emails and links to clients to get into the client portals also has been easy. Our clients have told us they love the client portal because it seems so secure and it's easy for them to use.

    Positive: The speed for viewing, editing, sending, and receiving documents through this cloud-based software is more than we expected.

    Negative: Do not like the editing document feature at all, in fact we chose to use Acrobat Document Cloud software instead of using the SmartVault editing document. SmartVault's editing feature is clunky - you have to zoom to each page and the notes are not easy to use.

    Summary: I mainly use SmartVault for storing and sharing financial reports and other files that need to be safely sent to/from my clients. The user interface is professional looking and a step up from what I was using. At some point I need to take the time to meet with someone and really gain a better understanding of how some of the features work.

    Positive: It is great for securely sharing financial reports. The templates are great, once you learn how to use them.

    Summary: Overall, it is a good solution for document storage, both on the company side and the client side. I do feel like you have to be fairly savvy in order to set up new vaults and folders correctly.

    Positive: SmartVault allows a seamless print function for our tax software. It also is extremely easy to print to the DMS. Customer Support is always extremely helpful.

    Negative: It was be great if it had a document search function directly from the client listing page (in case a document had been incorrectly saved to another file). It can sometimes be cumbersome to add users to the vaults.

    Summary: This has been a great program for our company. We only have about 12 employees so not being able to have 2 people open a file at the same time is not a huge deal but at a larger company I think this could be an issue.

    Positive: The ease to which clients can upload documents. During COVID, this program has been a life saver to ensure we could get everything we needed to complete a return.

    Negative: When searching for a client, it seems to take a long time to load. There is also an issue with the software auto-refreshing and most of the time the refresh button does not work.

    Summary: Overall great product- especially once forced to remote work, clients could no longer mail and drop off documents to our firm, so we really relied on the portal to keep our business moving and running efficiently.

    Positive: We love the ability to store, send and receive secure documents while putting clients at ease that their documents are protected. It's user friendly and so easy to manage.

    Negative: It would be 5 stars if it were easier to control client portal functions and folder allowances.
