    Summary: We're a family plumbing business with four tradies on the road. Before Reckon One, I kept invoices in Excel and entered bank transactions by hand at the end of every quarter. I chose Reckon over Xero because the pricing suited a business our size and we could add all of us as users without paying more.

    Positive: Bank feeds do most of the reconciling now so I just match what comes in each week. Once BAS time arrives I hand the figures to our accountant ready to lodge. Instead of losing a whole weekend every quarter, it takes me an afternoon. My husband checks invoices from his phone on site, and we both log in without sharing a password. When I got stuck setting up GST codes, I called support and spoke to someone in Sydney who sorted it in one call.

    Negative: It took me a couple of weeks to get the chart of accounts set up the way our accountant wanted, and I'd have liked more guidance during setup. Some reports took a bit of digging to find at first.
