PagerDuty is an excellent choice to have on your shortlist for IT Service Management Applications Date: Mar 16 2022
Summary: If your organization is looking to enhance its IT ecosystem by creating more ever green applications, PagerDuty slots in quite nicely with a number of its offerings.
Positive: As my organization heads towards the cloud, and attempting to create an "ever green" landscape PagerDuty would fit in quite nicely. Given its a largely cloud based tool it will be ever green, along with its ability to integrate with other systems via API's.
Negative: PagerDuty does have a bit of a learning curve given its robust ecosystem of offerings. Costs along with any other cloud based tool can also escalate quickly if not properly managed.

Positive: The ability to quickly and easily create custom notifications based on specific criteria that is important to me. Also the ability to acknowledge/resolve incidents without leaving my email client is a huge time saver.
Negative: There is not much that I did not like about PagerDuty. The only thing that I could think of is that it would be nice if there was a way to view past notifications. Other than that, I have been very happy with PagerDuty.

Easy to set up Date: Jul 06 2021
Summary: The company I work for uses this app to page any on-call staff that need to respond immediately to production service issues. We use this for several teams and I am on one of the teams that may need to address issues right away. I was able to set up the specs for my team easily.
Positive: This app is easy to set up schedules for being on-call in a 24/7 support environment. I don't admin this whole thing but as a user I can put in the schedule that works for me.
Negative: I wish this had multiple schedules for one particular contact. Maybe it does but I have not figured out how to do it yet.

Works flawlessly...if you set your alerting thresholds correctly Date: Aug 21 2020
Summary: Make sure your alerting thresholds are neither too sensitive nor too ... whatever the opposite is. PagerDuty will alert your team members whenever any condition you specify has been met, so just make sure that those are set wisely to avoid making on-call engineers on your team unhappy.
Positive: So, during busy release cycles, you really gotta stay on your toes just in case that new feature you shipped broke some functionality unexpectedly. And this could totally happen even in the middle of the night, when you normally wouldn't be checking your emails. PagerDuty bypasses that and calls you up. And if you aren't awake, it'll call the next in line and so on, so the issue gets resolved.
Negative: Man, can you imagine? Getting woken up for a false alert? Yeah, no one likes that. Not really PagerDuty's fault there, but it does get annoying.

Positive: I can now schedule my office coworker on call spin and I can easily substitute or swap schedules as per needs, hence it assists me during working hours!
Negative: Not capable of user friendliness , There should have some user manual to tackle this drawback. Also, little expensive in compare with other available alike tools.

Simplifying support Date: May 25 2020
Summary: Overall very pleased with the experience. I have not tried many support apps but this seems to get the work done brilliantly. If the app could be fixed and some minor issues resolved, this might be the de-facto app for support
Positive: The best thing about this software is the ability to get a notification on SMS/calls/email - if you have a device you will be notified. It also has integrations with Grafana and Airflow which will help you immensely in case people on support needs to be notified. Also, the fact that the person on support can be changed in just a couple of clicks is awesome in situations where you have last-minute drops
Negative: The app is a bit clunky at least on Android. There is no way to link two issues due to which the same issue would be notified again and again
