OpenShare Description

OpenShare functions as a healthcare data gateway implemented as a plugin on an existing Mirth Connect or Open Integration Engine (OIE) server, enhancing it with a web-based Console for channel development and management, Monitoring for assessing channel performance and alerts, and a secure Gateway for outbound-only remote access. The Exchange layer facilitates direct connections between organizations by providing a Contact Directory, customized sharing agreements, and secure, end-to-end encrypted transfers of HL7, FHIR, and DICOM data—this includes comprehensive imaging studies transferred directly from engine to engine without any cloud storage and without incurring fees per study. An optional dashboard devoid of PHI displays only metadata, ensuring privacy. Users can freely operate the Console, Gateway, Monitoring, and DICOM viewer on their own servers. The inter-organizational exchange operates on a network membership basis, priced at $500 per server monthly, including 2.5 GB of transfer, with additional data charged at $0.25 per GB; however, connecting organizations can do so at no cost. Currently in open beta, membership sales have not yet commenced. This innovative solution is developed by Saga IT, aiming to transform healthcare data sharing practices.
