TextSeek is a professional full-text desktop search tool. Unlike the filename search tool like Everything and Listary, TextSeek can search filename and file content easily and quickly. It supports PDF, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, RTF and other formats.
Features:
1. Minimalist design. The search box and results are as intuitive as Google, and the operation is convenient. You can preview the file content with highlighted keywords, and you can quickly browse the search results with ctrl+arrow shortcut keys.
2. Cross-platform and multi-language. It supports Windows and Mac OS systems. It performs full-text search with no omission, and it can search through all languages by using UNICODE. The user interface supports Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Arabic and other languages.
3. Multiple search options. The results can be filtered by document type, file name, or file content. They can be also sorted by file size, modification time or relevance. TextSeek uses full-text search technology, so it supports case matching, whole word matching, and original query matching.
4. Batch processing. You can copy, cut and delete the search result files in batch, and you can also export all the search result into a csv file.
Description
Livegrep is a tool inspired by Google Code Search that facilitates interactive regex searches across source repositories that can be several gigabytes in size. To utilize livegrep, you must start both the codesearch backend, which handles indexing and searching, and the livegrep web interface. After building both codesearch and livegrep, you can run the sample web interface to test livegrep itself. The codesearch binary plays a crucial role by reading the source code, maintaining an index, and processing search requests. Notably, livegrep operates without state and depends solely on its TCP connection to the codesearch component. By default, codesearch generates an in-memory index for the repositories listed in its configuration file, but it also offers the option to save the index to a file on disk. This functionality not only accommodates indexes that exceed the available RAM but also allows for the reuse of index files across different sessions. Consequently, this feature enhances efficiency and resource management when dealing with extensive codebases.
