Description
QuickMove moves files where they belong with one right-click. Choose QuickMove on a file and it goes where that kind of file went before; for a new kind of file the Rule Wizard opens and builds the rule with you, matching on name, extension or a pattern with regular expressions, and from then on the move needs no prompt. Files that match no rule get a menu of your favourite folders. Every move is in a history with multi-step undo. Rules can be overridden or edited from the context menu, can send files into sub-folders named from the file, and can rename a file already in the target folder rather than overwrite it. The Automation plugin, an optional US$24.99 add-on, watches folders such as Downloads and applies your rules without you. Commands sit on the first page of the Windows 11 context menu. Licence US$29.99, paid once, with free minor updates; free edition and a 7-day trial. Windows 7 SP1 to 11 and Windows Server 2012 R2 and above. Email support within 24 hours.
Description
Renomee is a versatile application designed for batch renaming files on both Windows and macOS platforms. It empowers users to rename multiple files simultaneously using either straightforward natural-language commands or standard methods such as adding prefixes, numbering, performing find-and-replace actions, and adjusting date formats. For advanced naming options, Renomee leverages content-aware capabilities, utilizing text and metadata from PDFs, EXIF data from photos, ID3 tags from audio files, and other supported document or image contents to suggest new filenames; however, optical character recognition (OCR) for scanned images may necessitate a separate server request. Before finalizing any changes, users have the opportunity to preview the proposed filenames, ensuring accuracy and satisfaction. Common use cases include the organization of research documents, invoices, scanned files, photographs, audio collections, and folders that contain files with inconsistent naming conventions. This application is particularly beneficial for individuals or teams managing local files who desire uniformity in naming without the need to delve into complex regular expressions. Users can take advantage of a free daily allowance, while those needing to rename larger groups of files or seeking ongoing access can opt for various paid plans. Additionally, Renomee simplifies the often tedious task of file organization, making it an essential tool for anyone looking to streamline their digital file management.
