Description
CadVex is manufacturing estimating and quoting software designed specifically for CNC machine shops. Users can upload STEP files and supporting drawings, after which CadVex analyzes the geometry to identify manufacturable features, operations, and assumptions that contribute to the estimated cost. The resulting cost analysis provides editable details covering material and stock, scrap assumptions, setup and programming, machining operations, finishing, marking, inspection, outside operations, and other production requirements. Estimators can apply their own shop rates, batch sizes, cycle assumptions, quantity effects, margins, and commercial inputs while keeping the underlying manufacturing estimate visible. Built-in DFM analysis connects manufacturability findings to specific areas of the 3D model and provides information about their potential manufacturing impact and suggested changes. Once an estimate has been reviewed, CadVex can turn it into a customer-ready quote using the machine shop's own letterhead. Quote intelligence keeps commercial outcomes connected to estimating activity by tracking draft, sent, won, and lost quotes as well as open pipeline, won value, win rates, and customer performance. CadVex is available as both a Desktop application, where CAD files and analysis remain on the user's computer, and a Cloud version that performs analysis through CadVex Cloud without requiring a local installation. Both versions use the same interface and estimates, allowing shops to choose between local processing and cloud-based access based on their workflow and data requirements.
Description
DeskProto is a 3DCAM program that can be used to create 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC milling machines. It can import 2D vector (DXF), SVG, AI, EPS, EPS, AMS, AI), 3D geometric (STL, DXF), bitmap (any digital image), and calculate CNC toolpaths for the design. Finally, it can export a toolpath file to the machine you have selected - there is a long list of supported machines. DeskProto is available as a free, entry, expert, and multi-axis edition. Hobbyists can purchase a low-cost hobby licence for the last three.
