WindowManager Description
WindowManager enhances your productivity by tracking and restoring the layout and dimensions of your applications and windows. Many applications fail to retain their layout across different sessions, and even Windows Explorer does not revert to previous window positions on Windows 7 or later versions. This is where WindowManager comes into play, ensuring that your windows are positioned precisely as you prefer each time they are launched. Additionally, WindowManager provides the option to lock the dimensions and location of any window, guaranteeing it opens in the same designated area regardless of any adjustments made. The utility offers extensive customization options, enabling you to establish specific rules for your most utilized windows. Furthermore, WindowManager can automate actions such as sending keystrokes or mouse clicks to a program upon opening its window, executing supplementary applications, and performing various advanced tasks. Moreover, users can conveniently minimize a majority of windows directly to the system tray, allowing for a more organized workspace. This comprehensive functionality makes WindowManager an essential tool for anyone looking to streamline their digital environment.

This program was the only thing that made Windows 11 usable for me. Date: Jul 30 2025
Summary: Windows 11 would be a pile of x if it wasn't for this WindowManager program. Windows 11 without this program would be a 1 on a scale from 1-10. But with this program, it is rated high and above all previous Windows versions 10, 8.1, 8.0, Vista, XP. If only Microsoft would fix their x and do what WindowsManager does and what every previous version of Windows did - REMEMBER WINDOW SIZES AND POSITIONS and NOT MOVE WINDOWS, NOT RESIZE WINDOWS, and NOT MAXIMIZE WINDOWS THAT WEREN'T MAXIMIZED.
Positive: Windows 11 does not like it when you make windows flush with the edge of the screen or flush against the taskbar. If you do and it is a UWP app, it will maximize the UWP window the next that you open it. Even though the window was never maximized and only took half the screen before you closed it. If you have windows flush against the edge of your screen and taskbar and the computer goes to sleep or you close your laptop lid, when your computer is awake again, there will be huge gaps between the window and the edges and taskbar. No one asked for a Windows that doesn't remember the window sizes and positions. If you place the Task Manager window against the edge of the screen, it auto moves itself to the adjacent desktop screen for no reason at all. These frustrations make Windows 11 completely unusable for me. But this WindowManager program saved me and made Windows 11 usable for me. Not only that, with Windows 11 sleek borders and rounded corners and newer looking UI, Windows 11 PLUS WindowManager is much better looking that Windows 10. But without WindowManager, Windows 11 would be worse than XP because it can't even function right and remember window sizes and positions. Not only does WindowManager save Windows 11 for me and make it useable, but it helps with other problems as well. Most Unreal Engine game windows resize themselves to a supported resolution whenever there is a cutscene, a setting in the Settings Menu is changed or saved, or a new map area loads. WindowManager will make it so that the window reverts back to the size that YOU want. WindowManager also has some built in tools that are useful for like toggling a window's state to Always on Top or toggling partial or full transparency on a window. This program was worth every penny. I even paid extra for free lifetime updates, because it was worth it. It starts with a 30 days trial but after spending several days setting up my computer after a reformat and update from W10 to W11, I just went ahead and bought it.
Negative: It is around 98% perfect, but it is not 100% perfect. I often notice a 1px gap around windows that shouldn't be there because I had them set up to be flush against the taskbar or edges of screen. But nothing will get rid of the 1px gap. And if I close my laptop lid, then the windows revert back to Windows 11 behavior and are no longer flush against the taskbar and edges and will have large gaps all around the window. So to fix it, I use a macro to resize the windows. Or I could just close them and then open them and let WindowManager do its work. But when I don't open or close my laptop lid or let my computer fall asleep, WindowManager always does its work and remembers the window size and position that I want when I open the program.
