Great idea, but needs some fine tuning

    Date: Apr 14 2022

Summary: Overall this is a great, free tool that I would recommend. However, I prefer the broader functionality of the free version of Personal Capital, however, it is not available in Canada.

Positive: The Wealthica free version provides a useful tool to get a consolidated view of your finances. I was able to fairly easily link my various investment and bank accounts to the site to get a snapshot of my assets and liabilities at any given time. It is also easy to see a list of transactions across all accounts to monitor expenses. The "power up" options allow you to add other functionality without charge such as a budget tracking tool.

Negative: To be able to export transactions, a paid subscription is necessary. However, I was able to cut and paste into excel to get the same functionality.

The free version only covers Canadian institutions. many American financial institutions can also be linked, but to do so you need to pay for premium.
