I selected the $0.95 option to convert one PDF, thinking it was a simple, one-time charge. Instead, I was billed $39.95 for a monthly subscription I never agreed to, and also charged twice for the same $0.95 transaction.

It’s obvious that the site is deliberately set up to trick users into thinking they’re paying just $0.95, when in reality that button is coded to silently enroll you in a subscription. There is no clear warning, no consent, and no transparency. This is fraudulent by design.


I’ve reported this to PayPal, who have already canceled the fraudulent subscription, flagged the company, and are now actively investigating them for fraud. PayPal has confirmed with me that they are considering banning this business from their platform entirely.

Once that investigation is finalized, I will be back to confirm publicly that PayPal has blacklisted them.

Do not give this website your money. Do not trust any of the fake reviews. This is a subscription trap disguised as a simple PDF tool. Avoid at all costs.

Summary: A totally dishonest site and recommend saying clear. You sign up for the free trial. I actually paid for a one of use of this service. I did not know and not made aware that you have to let them know to cancel. Which can only be done by emailing them which is ridiculous

Positive: It created the pdf I wanted. In theory it could be a good reputable company except for the hidden conditions of using the free trial.

Negative: I paid for a one of conversion not knowing that there are conditions for this which are that if you don't notify them not to charge you for a further subscription then you will get a shock when they take funds from your account.
This is hidden and not obvious to see. Should be a warning that if you continue, that you agree to a paid subscription unless you cancel before the so called cooling off period.

Summary: They charged me 40 Euros without my approval.
Initially it was advertised as free, then they charge for a subscription 40 euros per month

Positive: Its a mediocre pdf editor. But for my job as a civil engineer it was ok. But nothing special you can find better programs.

Negative: They charge money after the free trial without asking.

Summary: This is some kind of business set up and designed to scam people and find a way to take money from people. Ridiculous

Positive: Absolutely nothing! Deserves 0 stars! Theres nothing positive to say about this company no matter what!

Negative: I have been charged $39.95 for a subscription I didn’t sign up for. I don’t even know what this site is. I’ve called and called and no one answers. When you email, a bot emails you back and goes in circles. Such BS! Whoever runs this needs to be shut down and taken for everything!

Positive: Nope, there is not a single good thing to be said about TheBestPDF. Save yourself the loss of your money and use the alternatives mentioned on Slashdot!

Negative: Even when you make sure not to activate the free trial -because that would lead to a paid membership- they automatically activate it for you anyway. That is their business model, to scam you while pretending to be decent people. Don't use it, don't use the 'pay 95 cents only' offer for a single pdf! It will cost you 40 or 50 euro.

Summary: This is a scam. Beware and check your credit card statements. Report any charges to your bank immediately.

Negative: I was charged $39.95 twice for a subscription I never signed up for. I never authorized any payment, and the company has ignored my attempts to contact them.

Summary: Terrible experience. I feel cheated. In 100 characters it would be something like: deceived, defrauded, tricked, swindled, conned, hoodwinked, bamboozled, duped, and bilked.

Positive: It impossible to get out of subscription online ,you need to contact them and when last payment was collected I said could you refund , as you already collected last month that I was never using it ,so I want to cancel , still they did collect it

Positive: Good advertising online to trap you and easy to use with clear steps till the last step to request the payment.

Negative: I only wanted one time use, but it charged me a monthly subscription fee the next day. Even I immediately requested the refund and subscription cancellation, they still charged me without any reply on my request of refund.

Summary: I was charged 3x and so the bank blocked the my card!

Summary: I used this online service for a small once off fee. That they do t tell you after 24 hours you will be charged a monthly subscription without any warnings or opportunity to stop this monthly charge

Positive: No pros for this dishonest online pdf file conversion service, I’d rather spend a day with Trump on the golf course

Negative: This is a scam, DO NOT use this service they set its free but if you’re not carful you will be charged a monthly subscription fee!!

Company does not issue refund and will charge your account $39.99 after the 7 days they tell you you must pay $0.95 to access.
Luckily I cancelled before this happened to me, but the document I uploaded returned to me ineligible and the customer support will not refund the .95 due to their policy.
TLDR: Don't bother using this site, it doesn't work and they will take your money without your permission

Negative: Horrible customer service, product doesn't work, company will charge your card without permission.

Summary: Support was useless. Agents are taught to not help customers with refunds and when you do remind them they're a scam, they say here’s our product free for two years because we know it’s worthless.

Positive: They take your credit card number very quickly and efficiently they are very good at taking money from people

Negative: I was also scammed out of $80 -
I thought I bought a $3.99 one time purchase and it signs you up for $39/month service that does nothing.

They won’t refund anything and offer you some BS to use their platform for free for two years.
Companies like this can’t make enough money honestly so they need to do it this way. Will share my review on all platforms and Hope companies like this get the PR the deserve.
