RingCentral Fax Description
Send faxes online anytime and from any location using any device. Whether you're finalizing a real estate transaction on the go or signing a purchase order from the airport, the process is seamless and convenient. Utilizing software-based online faxing eliminates the need for old-fashioned hardware and the hassles associated with traditional phone line faxing. You can effortlessly oversee both incoming and outgoing faxes online, leading to significant cost savings. To create a new fax, simply use the RingCentral app, either on mobile or desktop, where you can input the recipient's fax number, add a message, and attach files from platforms like DropBox, Box, Google Drive, or any Microsoft Office® application. Alternatively, you have the option to send faxes via email by addressing them to the recipient's fax number @rcfax.com; the email content and attached documents will be converted into the fax pages. RingCentral can assign you a new fax number, or you can retain your existing one. Incoming faxes will arrive in your inbox as email attachments, giving you the flexibility to forward, file, or print them as needed. This modern approach to faxing ensures that you stay connected and efficient, no matter where you are.

Robust but too expensive for most small businesses Date: Jun 17 2020
Summary: We were with another company that was bought by Ring Central about 9 years ago. Besides efax and a couple of others, there were not a lot of fax solutions a decade ago, particularly those with good reputations. We have not been unhappy with Ring Central, but they keep raising their prices and every year we call and complain and they give us a better rate. If we were a big business who sent out lots of faxes it would be one thing, but their current pricing is not very competitive for other HIPAA compliant fax solutions.
Positive: The desktop app is handy, as is the ability to fax through email. The product can be HIPAA compliant (if you use the HIPAA compliance features). Reports/logs are good, but can be hard to search.
Negative: I'd like to see a picture of the "first" page at the bottom of the confirmation email to prove what was sent. When messages fail, it doesn't tell you why. Was the line busy, wrong number, lost connection? There is no way to know. The website is hard to get to. If you try to login to regular RingCentral you end up in the Glip app, you have to login through a different site. The software is constantly updated, but the GUI looks the same (and it's not very appealing)
