Four generations of photos to organise

    Date: Apr 12 2023

Summary: Very happy it is easy to learn and intuitive. It certainly reduces the effort required to get a great result.

Positive: Everything, as a beginner I downloaded the free version, to see if it was suitable for my needs. I scanned 125 photos and then set about sorting them, I was amazed how easy it was to tag etc and the Ai facial recognition only required me to tag a face a few times for it to sort out all the photos of that face aged 6 to 21 very impressive.
I have decided I will pay for the pro version and am excited at the prospect of learning as I go and achieving my goal. Still several thousand photos to go but it no longer feels such a daunting task.
I would highly recommend anyone to trial this application and I am convinced you will be very happy.

Negative: If I had to be very picky, I would ask the developers to expand the scope of the duplicate photo system it is good but could be tweaked to make it superb.

    Buggy and slow

    Date: Sep 01 2023

Summary: I was a happy Picasa user and was looking for an alternative. Phototheca has taken some features from Picasa, but it terms of look and feel and performance it doesn't match... Picasa still outperforms Phototheca even though it has not been maintained for years.

Positive: It has some features that were in Picasa.
You can upload to Google Photos.
Facial recognition is okay - not great.
    Map view is nice.

    Negative: It's slow... and crashes.
It messes up tags with the ";".
