Comprehensive and Robust Security with Palo Alto Networks NGFW

    Date: Nov 22 2024

Summary: It is a great market leader in terms of next-generation firewalls. The panorama is the added advantage to it to manage the firewalls centralized and provides the insights. But its cost will be considerable when compared to all other firewalls.

Positive: It has the capabilities of identifying and blocking cyber threats with features like cloud threat intelligence and Wildfire with ATP.
It provides accurate control by enforcing policies based on applications and users rather than IP addresses or ports.
Implements Zero Trust principles, which are identity-based controls.
Easily integrates with other Palo Alto products and third-party solutions for any architecture.
Regular signature updates and feature enhancements keep the firewall up-to-date with the latest threats.
It has layer 7 visibility and SSL decrypting capabilities.

Negative: Initial investment and ongoing subscriptions make the device budget-conscious. Other features like threat intelligence, cloud management, and wildfire added to the device, like being heavier in terms of cost.
Advanced features and control may require long learning for the less experienced administrators.
Firmware and software upgrades may cause temporary service disruptions.
