Going downhill since acquired by Apryse Date: Nov 12 2024
Summary: What was once a great product from a great company has rapidly deteriorated under the new owner. Can no longer recommend.
Positive: Only cross-platform PDF Editor. The functionality is good, and I would not hesitate to recommend the product if not for the stupid direction they are going under the new owner.
Negative: The Apryse support department has gone downhill - they will not even test the product when a bug report is filed with an example file, insisting that the user jump through hoops including reinstalling the product and showing screenshots of what was done, even when there is only one way to do the thing described in the report.

The new owner does not honour the perpetual licence conditions, which included free point release updates, and discounted annual upgrades, insisting that users go onto a more expensive subscription just to get what they already paid for.
The user interface has regressed, replacing window decorations with their own and not picking up colours or settings from the selected theme and thereby losing integration with the system user interface, both visually and in the way the windows respond to user interaction. -

I love this program Edited: Jul 08 2023
Summary: I am very happy with it but i still have a lot to learn about it. That's my fault not theirs. I will get through it in my own time.
Positive: I have had this program since 2022 and i love it. I use it for my full time hobby and it means i do a lot of editing and printing of documents and artwork. I also love that there are tutorials that i can follow to learn even more things that i don't currently use. They are also adding even more to it which i am excited about. I highly recommend this software to anyone who needs a PDF program for their home and work needs. Go get it!
Negative: Sometimes it can be a bit difficult to navigate if you are new to it and not quite sure what you are looking for but that wasn't much of a problem for me. I found what i needed in the end.

Great form builder! Date: Mar 02 2021
Summary: I've put most of my thoughts in the pros and cons above. The bottom line of any software as a tool is: Does it get the job done better than competitive products? Yes, PDF Studio Pro does. I also have Acrobat Pro and went searching for something that let me work with large documents without having to hand tool form field names over and over. Also, despite the comment about the user interface, the options are right there for you to choose and work with. Something Acrobat Pro has yet to figure out. They have a cooler interface but I like working in PDF Studio Pro because it's more functional for my workflow.
I happily forgo the interface ageism for the usability of this software as is - but, the user interface does feel a bit 2005 (chunky). I don't know why I keep finding it visually distracting. But, again, who cares!Positive: Easy to build templates of complicated forms and copy and paste with incremented field names!
All of the features are in sight except for a few key right-click features (e.g alignment), which, once you know where things are, it's really easy to work.
Full suite of form element options in the top icon menu bar.
All document, edit, conversion, security, and form options are a short mouse move and click away. Very helpful in speedy creating and management of PDFs.
The Batch option set looks complete and also a key time-saver when working with large files and preparing for publication.
I looked up something in their online help and got right to the answer. What a relief good documentation is!Negative: Very few minor issues with the product. In the Batch editing layout, I'd like to be able to navigate a document by bookmark. Navigation can slow an otherwise speedy process when working with large docs.

Switching from Adobe Acrobat Pro Date: Nov 27 2020
Summary: Quite happy. The price is quite good. The install doesn't take long to deploy. The upgrade from 2020.1.1 to 2020.2.0 was smooth.
Positive: Not subscription based. Easily deployed to multiple computers. The MSI and EXE can both be silently installed. This is great as it gives us more deployment options.
Negative: Still learning the ropes. I need to find ways to unregister license and uninstall the application. So far I haven't found a way to unregister PDF Studio 2020 via command line.

Nice but not suited for high-res screens. Edited: Jan 26 2020
Summary: One of the best packages of its type running on Linux, but that is really not saying a lot. All other similar software packages for Linux are way behind Acrobat in functionality.
Positive: Rather good functionality. Reasonably good layout.
Negative: Does not support cutting and 3D PRC (Product Representation Compact) like Acrobat does. Limited functionality and reconfigurability.

Very Useful and user-friendly Date: Dec 14 2019
Summary: 4/5
Not clumsyPositive: PDF Studio Pro is really an useful PDF editor. Earlier I was in MS Windows and was using Adobe Acrobat. But after switching to Linux, I was having problems with PDF editing. PDF Studio Pro has compensated the crisis. This is more like Adobe Acrobat earlier versions, in terms of look and feel. That’s user friendly. As I’m neither an expert nor a commercial/professional person, I always prefer user friendlyness. Command icons are clear with tooltip already written. Menu is elaborated well break-up. Very less searching for what I’m looking at. Also, all the functions seems to be available, so far I have tried.
Negative: Yet to find. Tell me if there are any, if some bugs. I should be careful while using. Only one suggestions - add a printer driver for linux. We can generate using print command. Now it is giving errors.

PDF Studio Pro - 2024 version Date: Aug 06 2024
Summary: The 2024 version of PDF Studio Pro is great! I have used it on some very large documents (over a gigabyte) and it handles even the largest with ease.
Positive: Pencil feature - This works well on my surface pro. I can use the pen to draw and write comments on documents, and the marker to highlight text.
Page resize - I have used this to resize from A4 to letter. As well as resizing the page, you can also scale the contents which is very handy!
Redacting - I have used the redaction feature to cut sensitive information from documents. I was able to mark the areas to be redacted and then apply them in one hit. Works great!Negative: Sometimes the 'Edit text' tool can be tricky, but I was able to find the content in the sidebar and edit it there. Also, I think the icon could perhaps be different.

OMG - It's amazing and for only a fraction of the cost Date: May 08 2024
Summary: Qoppa PDFStudio for Life.... So I was looking to use Javascript for Custom Calculations and Custom Actions on a Form Filled PDF.
This allows me to make fields disappear or fill with conditional answers when a tick box is selected or a different field has data entered into it (which is just for little tinkering projects I'm doing in my spare time)
So like everyone else in the world I went to Adobe to get a copy of the current version only to find that Adobe no longer support any software that doesn't come with a monthly subscription fee.
To make matters worse, the monthly subscription fee equals $347.82 per year for their PRO version (which is the only version that can do Javascript Custom Calculations and Actions).
So I went searching the internet to find another PDF editor that can do this and after weeks of Free trials and multiple heartbreaks, I discovered Qoppa PDF Studio.
Not only does it have everything built-in for Javascript Custom Calculations, Custom Actions and all the other usual features we've all come to expect from any good PDF editor but it comes with a ONE OFF price that doesn't break my bank account.
Qoppa, You are the Best! 10/10
Keep up the good work!Positive: It does everything you need from a Professional PDF Editor (like Adobe Pro DC) but without the stupid monthly subscription that places like Adobe would charge you.
Negative: It's not the prettiest UI in the world but I can live with that :)

This is the Editor that solved once for all my hunt for a perfect pdf editor Edited: Jul 26 2023
Summary: Best option if you want an editor that works well and it doesn't cost a fortune. I was tired of paying too much.
Positive: Lightweight, can sign documents, the editor feature has a ton of options, very intuitive, the tab feature allows you to have multiple files open at once and manage them easily.
Negative: When it's for default as your pdf program, it doesn't show the file's picture.

Summary: I love the overall concept, and I am a very happy convert. I have used other software, in the past, some which were just OK, some were below par, but Qoppa has got it right!
Positive: Easy and sensible program, intuitive and does it all. No other pdf software is any where near PDF Studio. Thanks Qoppa!
Negative: Took a little learning at first, but well worth the effort!

Qoppa's PDF Studio is a brilliant alternative to Adobe without the need for subscription payments Date: Jun 15 2023
Summary: The software is a comprehensive easy-to-use PDF editor that provides all the functions you will need to edit PDFs. The software also costs a fraction of the competing product from Adobe. Aside from the many editing features one of the main things that I also like is that you only pay once for the version of the software that you are interested in. I have recently cancelled my Adobe subscriptions which was costing me a fortune for a ton of software that I simply don't use. I've also seen that the software is available for Windows, macOS and Linux which is brilliant if you use more than one operating system e.g. at home and work. In short if you are looking for a PDF editing solution, you should try out PDF Studio. The software allows you to easily create, convert, review, annotate and edit PDF files. PDF Studio has replaced all my other software that I was using to work with PDFs as I now can get the job done using one application.
Positive: - Easy to use
- Provides all functions you need for editing with PDFs
- Single payment no ongoing subscriptions to use
- Runs on Windows, macOS and LinuxNegative: - Difficult to discover on web (swamped out by Adobe's advertising)

Best Alternative PDF Editor Date: Apr 07 2023
Summary: Finally, a PDF editor that doesn't involve an expensive subscription, plus has all the features without the cluttered UI. It is intuitive to use and I prefer it to Adobe Acrobat, Foxit, PDF XChange, AcePDF, and others. Frankly, I am just relieved to have a perpetual license for a product that just works.
Positive: - Feature-rich without a messy user interface
- Able to drag files into the thumbnails pane
- Simple digital signature and stamp features
- Streamlined review tools
- Minimal design is good for reading
- I like the monochrome iconsNegative: - I would prefer it if there were more dark themes
