Edius vs Cyberlink power director- I use both and found one key plus for edius Date: Jun 20 2022
Summary: Always positive. I started using Edius more than a decade ago. The 3.5 Neo I think it was called was a light version of the full package I still use on occasion. For sure the foundation of Edius is commercial - I believe News Gathering whereas the foundation of Cyberlink is consumer. This matters. Their-Cyberlink- products would come for free in computers in light version. When it came time for me to upgrade my Edius 3.5 software my budget did not allow the full Edius but did allow Cyberlink Power Director 17, which as a consumer based product is also easier to use and learn
Positive: BUT I JUST REDISCOVERED a critically important PLUS for Edius. Green Screen- chroma key. With one click my 10 year old Edius 3.5 did a far superior job to my PowerDirector 17. The OTHER benefit of Edius is the EXPORT of the EDL- edit list which allows project sharing with other brands of software like adobe. Cyberlink has no equivalent.
Negative: Not much to not like. It was made to be bullet proof. My recent crashing problems were fixed with a reinstall.
