The Dual-Pane Solution Your Mac Needs Date: Jun 26 2025
Summary: Overall, I’m really happy with Commander One. It’s packed with features, and once you get the hang of it, it makes file management on macOS so much easier.
Positive: I’ve been using Commander One for a while now, and I have to say, it’s a game-changer for managing files on my Mac. The dual-pane interface makes moving files around so easy—just drag and drop, and you’re done! Whether I’m handling local files or connecting to cloud services like Google Drive and Dropbox, everything’s right there in one place. I can quickly manage all my files without jumping between apps.
The file compression tools are a nice bonus, and I love how customizable it is. I can set up hotkeys and even access system files with root access when needed. That’s perfect for more advanced tasks.Negative: That said, the free version has its limits. To unlock cloud storage support and some other advanced features, I had to upgrade to the Pro version.

Sometimes files over SSH are not refreshed in file explorer. I may have to exit the folder and re-enter. I hope this question will be resolved in a new update. -

Excellent Date: Apr 11 2023
Summary: After decades of Microsoft, I took the plunge and converted all my laptops and desktop data to a new IMAC. MAC Migration Assistant is seriously lacking in execution and directions. After wasting way too many hours undoing the migration mess, I decided to move my data the old fashioned way with an external SSD. MAC split screen would work for what I was trying to do but just really didn't give the visibility I needed. I found Commander One and it just really nailed it! This is what I needed, exactly. If you have a MAC, you need this, you really need this. I am now sailing through transitioning over 24 years of data and having the ability to organize on the fly.
Positive: This does everything Finder can't do. Nice and tight interface, very logically laid out, lots of options but seriously, out of the box is ready to go just as it is. complete access and visibility to source and destination in one tidy layout.
Negative: Cannot find any con's to this at all. I keep getting positive surprises the more I work with this.

The Finder MacOS needed. The most well rounded file manager for MacOS Date: Jan 09 2023
Summary: A must have for sensible, intuitive & productive workflow on MacOS. Especially when coming from other OSes, you would feel the pain of using shallow Finder app in MacOS.
Go get Commander One and make your life on MacOS a bit more livable.
4.9 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ starsPositive: Intuitive user experience all the way through. Just what I missed coming from Windows to MacOS. MacOS' Finder is too shallow to even label it as a file manager / organizer but Commander does it better than most on MacOS.
Negative: I wish they get the File / Folder Comparison Sync soon.
