August Description
August is a property management application based in the UK, designed specifically for small landlords seeking an efficient and compliant method to oversee their rental properties. The platform prioritizes adherence to compliance requirements by providing automated reminders for essential tasks such as Safety Certificates and tenancy documentation.
One of its key features is the integrated August Intelligence, which enables users to upload tenancy documents, allowing the app to automatically fill in property and tenancy details. Additionally, it delivers context-sensitive answers to landlords' inquiries regarding their properties or tenancies, such as queries about void periods on specific properties.
With a streamlined, mobile-friendly interface, August is user-friendly and well-suited for landlords managing between one and ten properties. Tenants also have access to the app, enhancing communication and management. Although accounting capabilities are not currently available, the company’s website suggests that these features are on the horizon.
For landlords who prefer to manage their properties independently, August presents a straightforward yet powerful alternative to the more intricate web-based solutions available in the market. This makes it an attractive option for those seeking simplicity without sacrificing essential functionalities.

Best app for those who want to do it themselves Date: Oct 24 2025
Summary: I almost got a massive penalty when my electrical safety certificate expired without me even realizing it. August picked it up three weeks before the expiration date and sent me a complete reminder with what I had to do next, so I managed to schedule an electrician and passed the test two days prior to the deadline. One of those notifications paid for the app dozens of times over.
Positive: It is so intuitive to use. I uploaded my tenancy agreements and it filled in everything! Market value, EPC rating, tax bands, compliance dates, even property-specific action lists. What used to take me hours and hours of tedium entry data manually took less than 5 minutes for all five properties.
Getting my tenants on board was just as easy. I can upload a certificate or agreement and send it off with the click of a button. No more printing or scanning. It is difficult to find software that does this much without being complex.Negative: They still don't allow to log expenses so I can't get rid of my spreadsheet yet. Also I wish they had all the calculators on the website in the app.
