Poor functionality and user support Date: Jun 15 2025
Summary: Terrible. I hate AlumniMagnet and I would never recommend it. Using Eventbrite or another program would be much easier.
Positive: None, other than it doesn't require tooth extraction. It also doesn't draw blood. I guess those are good things?
Negative: Everything.

First, creating articles and emails is really difficult. For example, you can't copy an image and paste it into the article or email; you have to go through a complicated process of saving the image first. Further, you can't copy text and paste it elsewhere, keeping the original formatting; the formatting changes when you paste it.
Second, the program simply doesn't work. For example, if you want to copy the formatting of text, if you use a paintbrush icon to do so, it simply doesn't work.
Third, a user can't set up some features, such as accepting RSVPs for events; it's often necessary to involve the school's alumni office. In my case, the school alumni office gets irritated when they are asked to help with Alumni Magnet. So I'm stuck.
Eventbrite and other programs are much simpler to use. Why couldn't AlumniMagnet perhaps be integrated with Microsoft Word or Google Documents so that their ease of use could be a benefit here?
