Negative: The enhanced Map view will greatly aid in flow management. Users can select the execution server based on a custom load management configuration, which is beneficial when system load management needs to be adjusted to meet specific requirements.

Summary: The frequency of task executions has decreased, as has the server load. Automatic job scheduling is made easy.

Positive: Provides a consolidated platform for managing activities across several environments, apps, etc. Because of automation, manual involvement is considerably decreased, resulting in fewer manual mistakes.

Negative: Training videos are needed which will help new users.

Summary: The analytics and visualization function is much appreciated because it provides in-depth data. Alerts and notifications make work tracking easier.

Summary: A major issue resolved by ActiveBatch is its ability to trigger jobs after the completion of nightly data warehouse batch processes. As a BI Architect and engineer, this is crucial for me since we use ActiveBatch with Tableau to trigger Tableau data source refresh extract jobs.

Positive: The reduction in coding is substantial in numerous cases. Once a specific job is created, it can be easily duplicated with minimal adjustments. The scheduler provides extensive and flexible options.

Negative: Although the new user interface has some minor issues, they will be addressed as users provide feedback to the ActiveBatch team. The knowledge base needs improvement, but the educational ActiveBatch Academy and strong support lines make up for this shortcoming.

Positive: ActiveBatch demonstrates exceptional reliability and scalability for all our automation tasks. The tool excels in service management and intelligent automation, effectively scheduling complex jobs and effortlessly handling heavy server workloads, showcasing its robust stability.

Negative: ActiveBatch can be scaled up to handle larger workloads effectively.
The reliability of ActiveBatch event-based triggers can be inconsistent at times.

Summary: ActiveBatch has enabled us to automate these tasks, decreasing resource consumption and freeing up additional productive hours for activities beyond monitoring. It allows us to swiftly pinpoint server failures and resolve them within SLA targets, leading to enhanced and efficient business operations.

Positive: Its standout feature is its capability to initiate jobs once nightly warehouse batch processes are finished. It offers an impressive array of utilities such as file transfer systems, job schedulers, and other triggers that are highly effective.

Negative: They must ensure that users utilize technical support to configure everything during initial setup. Setting up permission levels can occasionally be challenging.

Summary: We have been using Control-M for the past three years. However, we encountered some limitations with customization, such as running jobs at different times on different days, which required job replication. This is something that ActiveBatch handles easily.

Positive: ActiveBatch offers numerous customization options that are extremely useful for automating our workloads. We use this tool to automate Informatica workflows, database jobs, and shell scripts.

Negative: Learning a new scheduler is always challenging, but I haven't found anything to dislike about it. Is it complex like any other workload scheduler? Yes, but that complexity enables it to do much more than just run batch jobs. The main downside is the steep learning curve, which is due to the extensive range of features to master.

Summary: I find it extremely adaptable. Whenever I inquire whether the solution can handle a specific task, the response is always, "Yes." I haven't encountered a challenge they haven't been able to address. It certainly facilitates workflow development and has decreased the amount of coding required.

Positive: ActiveBatch enables you to create a more streamlined process. It provided me with insight into all my tasks, allowing me to select which ones to execute concurrently.

Negative: I’m having trouble getting the log cleanup to work reliably. Currently, our setup may not be configured correctly, and it’s possible I haven’t communicated the issue effectively. This has been my main difficulty.

Summary: The user-friendliness has been quite satisfactory. I have successfully developed workflows and employed various modules from the job library, which has proven to be very effective.

Positive: ActiveBatch's capability to automate routine and repetitive tasks is effective. It handles this process quite well. Much of our work involves downloading files from SFTP servers and transferring them to our local file servers.

Negative: We've observed some issues with the graphical interface on our end, and it appears to be somewhat cumbersome.

Positive: Once you've set up a job, it operates autonomously without requiring further attention. Users will receive a notification, file, or email confirming its completion, allowing them to proceed with their day.

Negative: it would be beneficial to easily transfer variables between jobs. This was one aspect I found challenging. Aside from that, everything else is satisfactory.
